Call a saddlefitter. A CORRECTLY fitted saddle would not put you in a chair seat.

I’d also love to hear some tips on this. I use to have a horrible chairseat, until I saw some pictures of myself in a dressage saddle. Not pretty:eek: I’ve tried thinking about it all throughout my ride, and reminding myself to keep my legs back, but I find when I try to pull my lower leg back where it’s supposed to be, I pull my heel up as well. Is it more of a mental thing, or are we just lacking in lower leg strength?[/QUOTE]
The problem here is that you are focusing on your LOWER leg when the problem starts in your UPPER leg. Instead of moving your lower leg back from your knee, swing your leg back from your HIP. This will help put your whole leg in the correct position.

I’m curious of this also, or whether saddle fit can change? I tried my saddle with many others and it aeemed to be a good fit other than the flap was borderline too short. It’s a CWD SE01 and it was a great used price and the flap was still adequate. However lately I seem to be in a chair seat also and when that happens my butt looks like it goes right up to the back of the cantle (though I can fit my whole hand behind me if I just sit “properly” at rest).
could something have changed? Can I change it back? It appears balanced on the horse .
Saddle. Period.
