How much do you give? 2 oz. daily? I am looking at getting it through SmarkPak since I board and that would be easier.
How much TC Omega Max are you feeding a day / a feeding ?
TC Omega max - the recreational horses get about 1/4 cup, the tbs get 1/2 cup.
1 cup of whole flax per day for my mare. I pay about $35 CAD for a 25 kg bag.
Mare’s coat is very shiney and her legs seem tighter on it.
Think the OHS is 2 to 4 ozs a day if i remember right…at 39$ a 20lb bag, don’t want to be giving more then 4ozs.

I feed TC Omega Max and one horse gets 1 cup per day, the other one (came to me recently and is overweight) gets 1/2 cup per day. These horses are 15 and 16, so I feel like they should be on the higher amount. When the fatty loses some weight I will increase him to 1 cup daily.

Same here. Mine also get a cup of black oil sunflower seeds. And platinum performance.
All the omega 3’s in flax makes it totally worth it for me. I feed SmartOmega3 so it’s a little cheaper than the horseshine and I’ve really noticed it was kind of the “missing piece” in my horse’s diet. I will say though, on a horse that’s out on fresh grass 24/7, they will be getting lots of omega 3’s from the grass and may not need flax, at least in the warmer months.
My senior horse is also on Smart Omega 3 and just today, I was admiring how shiny he is, even though he still has quite a bit of shedding to do. He loves the taste of it and the amount is smaller than OHS, which he decided he hated halfway through a large bag.
