I think most horses are happier and healthier if they have a job. I know leasing out is scary and there are horror stories but you don’t hear about all the times it worked out just fine as often. If you can’t find an in house lease, is it possible your trainer knows of another trainer they would trust in their program? Sometimes that can workout if you know of a program with similar standards with people in your circle. I think a lot of the horror stories are when people lease their horses out to a random person, not in a well known program or facility.
