Top Hanoverian Mare Families

Geranie is the great-granddam of Rhodes Scholar and RS’s half-sister by Walt Disney, my beloved SPA Wardenia, who lost her first foal this year and then 4 months later slipped running in the pasture and fractured her hock and had to be put down. Its especially hard, having had my own little part of this dynasty, not having any offspring to carry on with. I’d love to acquire another broodmare of this line, but I imagine they are in high demand given the recent success.

Wow, that is so terrible:no:

Donella, I just sold an SPS Compliment Picard mare, in the JBP as well. She is super nice, and so nice to have him as a damsire.
I have always loved Compliment, and when I wanted to import his semen, I had no interest---- NADA. Now he is dead.
Crazy eh?
Oh well, I have For Compliment in my tank:-)

Ingrid,
that is funny and yet strange how breeding often works like that… sometimes you just don’t know what you have till it’s gone. Gotta love those real dual purpose sires. I got to see FC in Germany a few weeks ago. I liked him too!

I’m very fond of the prolific Nigretti-family. First of all because of its versatility and secondly because it has succeeded in all spheres and become influential in a variety of countries over a long time.

Going way back, Wolgarune by Wohler, founded a dynasty for the Klausing family. www.hof-klausing.de , click on Breeding. She had a number of daugheters, but in particular:

Her granddaughter Geranie, by Grenadier out of Arlette by Arsenik, is the granddam to 3 recent successful young stallions, Barclay (Adelheidsdorf 2008 winner), Fuerst Rosseau (Adelheidsdorf 2008 3rd place), and Scolari (dressage winner in his 70 day test, 140 pts). http://www.hanoverian-stallions-pape.de/pageID_5514662.html

Geranie is the granddam of Ramina K (by Rohdiamant out of Avignon by Akzent II), reserve champion 3 year old at Bundeschampionate and top seller at a Verden elite auction to Sissy Max-Therur (name since changed to Romantik)http://victoria.achleiten.at/cms/front_content.php?client=1&lang=2&idcat=19&idart=42 . Avignon was also dam to 2 approved stallions Belford and Ramazotti.

This is a marefamliy that also immediatly came to my mind. (Klausing’s).

Than others I can directly think of (but had to look up the numbers and prominent members):
The family that is e.g. at home with the Wrede Family. One example out of that mareline is Falada M who is competing Internationally GP (olympics for France). It should be the mare family 687 out of the already by Donella mentioned Book (I bet the englsih version is to explain how to use the book as the book as such is easy to understand without german apart from some reports it is all lists of horses…).
There is a licensed son by Sunlight bred by the Wredes out of this line that is in Florida (not breeding).

Than there is the known family e.g. at home with the Windelers and another part with Manfred Schäfer - the foundation mare is called Faschistenlied (350). Known the mare Caprice. She is to be found in the pedigree of licensed Schwarzenegger, Westernhagen, Lamborghini Diabolo.
Sunrise (Schellekens-Bartels) Comes also from this damline 350.

Than the damline that lead to Argentan, Lancet, Western Star, Fabriano and on the other hand the mare Goldlady DLG show winner. It is family number 749.

The Nigretti family includes e.g. Abundance, Tanzenlicht, Dakar, Converter, Pik Solo, the sporthorse Dollargirl And Kareen’s mares go back to that family aswell - I believe.

With Heavy Heart

Dear Lea Ann:

I am so so sorry to hear this news. But I have to add to this bad news. Rhodes Scholar slipped in his paddock in Germany and also broke his leg the morning of February 2, 2009. I have not been able to write about this until now.

He was purchased a few months back by a woman who was a student of Holga Finken. Holga showed him I-1 and I-2 earning scores of 72% and 74%. The owner just recently rode her first PSG with Rhodes Scholar and loved him dearly.

Holly and I were so very sad to received this news on the morning of Feb 2. They first thought that Rhodes Scholar had coliced as he was laying down in the paddock and no one saw him slip or fall. But he would not get up. When he finally tried to get up they noticed that his leg was dangling at the knee.

His owner was heartbroken. He was her dreamhorse. She had purchased a farm and built a special safe paddock just for him. When the vet informed her he would have to be put to sleep as there was no chance to get him to surgery, she brought out candles and champagne and they made a toast to him.

Holly told me this and I just sobbed. He was very special. I had just finished riding my special little Rhodes Scholar/Ravallo mare when I got this phone call. So I went back out to the barn and gave her a big hug and kiss and let her know that her Daddy would be have very proud of her.

Laura

Oh, NO Laura! I am SO sorry. He was really such a nice boy.

Great info BITS! Thanks!

Famm is Hanoverian. Dam of Shutterfly, Sir Shutterfly, and Pessoa’s GP horse, Let’s Fly. Don’t know if she is a one off, though.

Can someone tell me the meaning of “St. Pr. Hauptstutbuch”? I see this designation all over my mare’s pedigree.
Her breeding is Gloster x Don Carlos.
She is an excellent show jumper.
Thanks for your help!

does it really say this ?
St. Pr. Hauptstutbuch

Statespremium mare is St.Pr.St normally
and Hauptbuchstute means main mare book
