Trainer Problems

OP if you are still reading … the title of your thread is “Trainer Problems”.

You don’t have ‘trainer problems’ (singular or plural) that you have expressed here.

You have a ‘you problem’, simply that you are in the wrong barn for your goals. You and this barn are not a match.

The good news is that a ‘you problem’ is the easiest to solve, because its the one over which you have the most control.

You can’t control how your trainer chooses to live her life. You aren’t tied to one trainer. You can control how you respond to the situation you are in, and the situation that you want to be in.

Good luck! :slightly_smiling_face:

You will need to be honest with her. Tell her you are interested in showing. Maybe she will consider it.

If not, find a trainer who will. Explain to current trainer you are trying new trainer to show but would like the option to come back if showing is not for you. Tell her the truth, that you like the instruction but this is something you just need to try. A good human will accept that.

If OP does not own or lease a horse with this non showing trainer? Just takes lessons on a school horse? See absolutely no issue with exploring other programs that do show without worrying too much about “the option to come back”. Do not have to ask permission or sneak around when looking for services not offered at a current barn. Or, actually, it is your money and your choice where you train period.

I would ask current trainer for recommendations if showing is what OP wants to. It is a business first and foremost.
