Tramadol for dogs

Hope this won’t happen with your dog, but mine got very unstable behind on tramadol, which seemed to work well at first. Stopped the T when she fell on the stairs. I still cringe thinking about it.

My old boy lived on Tramadol for 9 years and it was a life saver for him. We started out at a low dose and at the end he was getting 100mgs/ 3 X a day. He never had a problem with it but I always fed it to him on a full stomach. He was also on gabepentin and a joint supplement. For awhile I was giving him adequan but that stopped working after a bit. They gave him a month to live when he was seven and he made it to almost 17. Not to bad

Tramadol is brilliant - especially when combined with panadol. My older BC is on this mixture for a combination of osteo-arthritis and spondylitis. Apparently, it is the pain relief for spondylitis as most NSAIDs don’t even touch the pain.

Combined with a modified exercise regime and minimising jumping.
