Tribute Feeds

I am sure there are some horses that will do better with another brand out there, but they are few and far between.

Why do you say that? There are many high quality brands, with high quality products, that MANY horses do very well on.

Triple Crown, Seminole, Poulin, LMF, Buckeye, Progressive, and more, are all high quality brands. ALL of them have a range of quality in their products, from very high quality, to lower. How how and how low varies a bit, but the upper levels are all very good and meet a range of needs.

Tribute is one of the few that offers a No corn and no molasses option, which is the best for my ulcer-prone mare. Kalm N EZ Pelleted.
I’ve had her on it for about 2 years now and am very happy with it.

I just switched feed as I found whole corn in the “No corn” Kalm Performer. I understand some mills use whole corn to clean the machines between formulas.

However, if you use corn to clean, and some of it ends up in the product, then that’s not corn free, is it?

Switched from Triple Crown products to Tribute about 5-6 years ago and have never been happier. Horses look great, I’m spending and feeding less feed each day. I’ve used Kalm and EZ, Kalm Ultra, Essential K, and Growth for various horses and they’ve all thrived on it and eaten it well. I love my local dealer and have emailed Dr. Burke on occasion with questions and find him very helpful.

Yes, it’s still corn-free in the context we’re talking about. Unless you’re finding handfuls of corn in every scoop, it doesn’t seem worth changing a feed you otherwise like, simply because of a few errant kernels that were used to clean the chute.

In this case, it was in every scoop. Maybe I got the lucky bag, or maybe the quality controls weren’t working well that day. Either way, I prefer the product to be what the manufacturer claims it to be.
