Did I read correctly that there are 3 Derby entrants sired by Into Mischief and two by Curlin? I guess I’m not surprised by Curlin, but I wasn’t following closely enough to expect Into Mischief.
Into Mischief is a highly successful stallion, I think #1 in North America in 2019 and 2020. Sire of Authentic and others.
Hence the price tag: stud fee for 2021 is $225,000.
Thank you. I just wan’t paying attention!
Some good racing today, leading up to the Oaks.
Today’s Kentucky Oaks NBCSN Coverage 12:00-6:00pm ET
1:26pm Alysheba Stakes (G2)
2:09pm Edgewood Stakes (G2T)
3:03pm La Troienne Stakes (G1)
4:04pm Eight Belles (G2)
4:55pm Twin Spires Turf Sprint Stakes (G2T)
5:51pm Kentucky Oaks (G1)
I like post times but I also like to know race # when I’m watching something like TVG… they show race numbers
I agree, some excellent racing today and not just the Oaks… Shedaresthedevil among others in race 8, the La Troienne Stakes (G1); also Envoutante, Dunbar Road… . Race 6 has Roadster.
Plenty to watch… just hope NBCSN doesn’t go crazy with the hat thing
The La Troienne is one of my favorites
Is Oaks Day all about breast cancer again?
I wish the planners would consider other charities when they decide to link an event to womens’ causes. Domestic violence, for example. I know, it’s a downer. But no one ever talked about breast cancer years ago either for the same reasons.
King Fury scratched today
I like knowing the race numbers as well.
Thanks.
Shedaresthedevil wins The La Troienne.
Wow! What a race from Juddmonte homebred Obligatory.
Stonestreet has three homebreds in the Oaks. Pauline’s Pearl (Tapit x Hot Dixie Chick) Clairiere (Curlin x Cavorting), still owned by Barbara Banke, and Malathaat (Curlin x Dreaming of Julia) that sold as a yearling at auction for 1M+ to Shadwell.
Hoping for one to win. Stonestreet has such a great breeding operation and they’ve never won the Oaks.
So 1st and 4th for Stonestreet bred fillies in the Oaks. Not bad.
Malathaat in the Oaks!
And connections may be considering going against the colts in the Preakness and Belmont.
Pat Day Mile up next! Wish they’d talk about it and leave the Derby talk for a few minutes.
I thought Dream Shake had Jackie’s Warrior!! Nope, 2nd by maybe a nose.
Great, great performance by Dream Shake
