Triple Crown feeds now being produced by Bluebonnet

Thx Stormy

Thank you, StormyDay. I really appreciate you giving us all this information

No problem  Though I am not sure what to make of it myself. While I understand what they are saying I do know there are feed brands who run mills that produce only horse feed, nothing else. I think I may look into this further.

Stormy, can you get Seminole? They just do horse feed in their production facility.

It is not enough for a mill to be medication-free if they are also not checking all possible avenues of where feed could become contaminated. Recent equine related deaths reported from Rumensin poisoning came from a mill that was Rumensin-free, but the medication was traced back to an improperly washed truck that had hauled cattle feed prior to handling an equine feed ingredient.

^^^ This makes it sound like you aren’t any safer relying on a mill that “just does horse feed”. There are appear to be multiple avenues for contaminants to find their way in…

Just FYI. I have found chicken feed in my bag of horse feed by major producer of equine feed. The Feed store said to always check your bags never just feed whats in a bag. All it takes is somebody not doing a great job cleaning up between running different animal feeds. Everybody has bad days and makes mistakes. I’m not sure my horses would have eaten it but i was glad i wasn’t in my usually rush that day, also the scoop felt light so I caught it.
