God I love COTH. Nerds just like me
I almost always have one tab open to American Classic Pedigrees. Quick and handy reference (though I can’t believe it took her until last year to add Quality Road).
If TB pedigrees are your thing, here’s another great website to check out: Anne Peters Pedigree Consultant
Anne Peters’ picks for leading freshman sire of 2025: Article Freshman Sires of 2025
I foresee my productivity taking a nosedive! Thanks. I am familiar with Anne Peters’ articles but was not aware of her site.
I worked as security at a TB and QH track in the midwest about 7 years ago and it was rare but I can think of a couple times races were canceled. Usually relatively late in the season (they’d run races from sometime in April until like, November) if we’d be getting rain all day and other bad weather. The whole day of races maybe wouldn’t be canceled but if it stayed bad later in the day the last few for the day might get canceled.
Taking races off the turf wasn’t unheard of either. Again though, that track had a relatively long season and was more small-time. Our biggest races were either a G2 or G3, probably G3.
Well just got an email from NYRA about Belmont at Saratoga next year so I guess I was wrong about them being able to stay somewhat on track
I have been expecting this to happen at Pimlico. If Belmont can’t even get finished in time…
