what a great idea! I ordered it. So the adhesive is ok and doesn’t hurt them?
It never seemed to. I wouldn’t let him lick it till it’s dry.
Our collie husky mix ate a whole pan of brownies with no ill effects. I think your dog shouldbe ok. The vet told me it takes a lot of chocolate to do real harm.
I seriously love that.
Well, Kim came over and helped me. He was very compliant, but what with turning his paws over, I felt I needed back up. I am sending a photo after it was done, (can’t see his pads, but it was done.) cross your fingers. Kim read the ingredients of the glue and has determined that it is superglue, so when I run out I can just use superglue.
While super glue might not be toxic to dogs - I would not use it on your dog unless you’ve consulted with your vet - that stuff can be very difficult to get off skin and out of hair.
well, the whole purpose of the stuff surely was tested. Hopefully, it will work. If it doesn’t seem to work well, I won’t use the rest of it.
Not the stuff you purchased for said reason as recommended by thatmoody - you stated if you ran out you would just use superglue - I simply said before using superglue I would consult with your vet.
but we looked at the ingredients listed on the tubes, then looked up superglue, and the ingredients were identical.
ok whatever
super glue ( cyanoacrylate ) is commonly used as a surgical closing in animals and people
it is more likely to cause mechanical irritation ( rubbing, toe clumps etc) then actual toxicity
Do you leave the pads on until they fall off? How does that work? It’s an interesting solution (my older dog also has trouble on tile / hard wood floors) but I wonder how they actually work! Wouldn’t the dog try to pry them off (and eat them)?
they didn’t seem to work for us. I had Kim’s help and she is SO competent. I think we didn’t get enough grit on his feet, but it didn’t seem to make a bit of difference. The biggest difference has been the carpet runners. But I still have gaps and when he hits them, he falls. Good luck with your dog.
