The vet can’t drain it? I’d go with the Munchinghay suggestion and start to manually drain it, since it’s already open.
In my experience, older dogs, mine were GSDs, would get big pimples and they would drain. I’d pop them like pimples and brown goo would come out.
There isn’t really anything to drain. It’s mostly just tissue; it does bleed if it’s scrubbed. I clean it every week. It itches a little bit but doesn’t hurt, she starts her foot up like it feels good when I start cleaning it.
