Totally different horse, but my 25 yr old couldnāt gain weight on TCS. On the same amount, he easily gained on Ultium gastric care. 6 months later & heās thriving. I think theyāre both highly palatable, quality feeds. Good luck with your decision.
My 23 year old is so weird - heās put on about 100 pounds in two months with Pro Force Senior BUT Iāve noticed heās been really stocked up despite living outside since heās switched. He has a low bow on a hind leg that gets real puffy (canāt see or feel his ligaments). He moves around fine, and heās a pasture puff so itās not the end of the world.
Iām scared to switch him because he got the weight on with the Pro Force (10 lbs per day, Iāll never financially recover), but I hate seeing him stocked up.
Iām wondering if itās the grain causing it or if itās because theyāre in dry lots more often than pasture. Regardless, heās happy as a clam and way less ribby, which Iām so pleased about since itās winter time.
