Heās 26? Looks like a very nice horse, butā¦ heās 26? and someone was not only competing him but abusing him and then dumped him, because he was being difficult and sheād moved him up a level too soon? at age 26? Or was that business about the tattoo in an earlier post saying that the tattoo had been misread and it would make him 26, but heās not?
Just confused. Great that heās been rescued and will have a happier life from now on. Lovely looking horse.
Noā¦ he is not 26. When I got him off the trailer and looked at his tattoo, it appeared to be a J, which would make him 26. It is a really bad tattoo! I checked his teeth and did some more tattoo deciphering, and he is indeed, 8 years old (B). It scared me for a short while, and he was less than please to have me examining his lip every 10 minutes! I made up for it with lots of carrots and he has forgiven me!!! :winkgrin:

He is doing very well! He did manage to get into a mess of fire ants yesterday, and is one big āouchy/itchyā hive this morningā¦ so will have a few days off to recover from thatā¦ be he has been nothing short of wonderful since he arrived :yes:

I was thinking about this thread and would love an update, almost two years later. Did Wilson ever make it back to the show ring? Did his ex-owner get another horse?

I saw this thread back up again, and wondered if someone else saw the article about Bev/MAHR in the Breeding & Racing section of the Horse of Delaware Valley, telling of the rescue of a former PHBA 2yr old champion racehorse from the NY kill pens.
Any updates on that horse Bev?
