Uncomfortable in the saddle

Also Goldfinch Fine Tack and Liberty Saddlery (on Facebook only). I found both very helpful in trying to find me something that would work for me.

Yeah I really liked riding in the Equipe saddles, but because I have a TB who had been trying to build the right muscles in his topline and shoulders for awhile, the wool flocked Amerigo made more sense so we could continue to tweak. Equipe uses the same trees, same customizations as Amerigo. Now if your horse didn’t like the tree(s), you tried in Amerigo, Equipe may not be the way to go. But I know some horses are very opinionated about whether they like wool or foam.

My other suggestion for saddle purchasing–if you have the time to look for used, great. I’ve been there. It was almost a two year endeavor, and I still didn’t end up exactly with what I was after.

But if you want to get a brand new saddle that fits you and a horse you plan to keep awhile, I recommend looking at a 0% APR 24 month credit card. Pay for the saddle on the card; finance it at your own pace over two years. I know this approach won’t be for everyone, but it was a godsend for me when I did not have all the money at once. Paid half cash, half on the card, and I closed the card 12 months later.

Have you tried a CWD SE03? Made a big difference for me.

CWD is one I haven’t gotten a chance to try. I will def sit in one if I get a chance.

Thanks for the info @Amberley. Just getting out of the Pessoa has made an enormous difference and I have just gone with sending back anything that feels similar as a precaution. As for your other questions, no one would mistake me for a runner  and I stretch almost everything I can before getting on.

I will repeat again, have you been checked by a doctor? This may not be from the saddle but from the inside of your body

Yes, but I will mention it again if it comes back. When I say just changing saddles has made a big difference, I mean I hardly even think about it anymore.

Actually, Equipe does not use the same trees as Amerigo. The only similarity really is that they are made in the same factory in Italy. There are several more Equipe tree shapes and types (including carbon which Amerigo doesn’t offer). That said, they all ride a little differently as far as rider and horse fit, so you may not like them. I found most Amerigos I’ve sat in to be uncomfortable after a couple of rides, but I have a few Equipes in different models and have ridden in others when horse shopping and generally have no complaints about most of them.

There have got to be some used Bruno’s out there somewhere …have you tried a PJ? I think the price point on those hasn’t skyrocketed like with most French brands.
