Any update for today?

Shade is doing well. They had to give her something to keep her calm today. I am going to see her after my kids get home from school. Cant wait to see her and get blood results for today. Its too soon to tell if she will be able to come home for the weekend.

Hope all keeps going uphill now.

Thank you for the update.

that’s great news! Let us know what the results are today.

That’s awesome. Bonnie and I are still jingling for Shade! Bonnie is jingling just a little bit less…she had her staples removed to day. Here’s hoping Shade can come home this weekend and has an uneventful recovery.

The visit went very well. At first when they opened the kennel she acted like we weren`t there. She looked so depressed. Then she realized we were there and lunged out of the kennel into our arms. We spent an hour loving her and talking to her. It broke my heart to leave her but she needs to stay on the IV. Luckily she really likes the people there.

She wouldn`t eat any foods the vet tried but wolfed down some chicken and tuna. Small portion for now, but she ate without any hesitation and was looking for more.

Her blood counts continue to go down. Urea 29 and Creatinine 651. Still a ways to go yet so she won`t be home this weekend.

Her coat and tongue are starting to show signs of the renal failure now. The roots are getting dull and skin is flakey. Tongue looked a bit grey.

The prognosis at this point is good. Hopefully there is little to no kidney damage if we caught it in time.
