Bad news about the shelters here. They will not pick up or accept a cat with a clipped ear like mine has. Since she was spayed as a feral the clinic clipped her ear. They just assume she belongs to a managed colony.
UPDATE, sheās home!!!
Thank you everyone so much for the stories!
Awesome!
Yay! Did she come back to your new home or the old one? How is she? Bet sheās purring. Oh, if only they could talkā¦
YAY!!! Great news!!
Great news! How did you find her?
StG
Thatās WONDERFUL. I had a barn cat who used to go walkabout. She would disappear for a couple of days at a time, then once for several weeks. I assume she was locked in somewhereā¦she was very, very thin.
Then two years ago, she disappearedā¦Iām still hoping that one day sheāll come back or that someone adopted her. She was really friendlyā¦almost too friendly.
She showed up in the trap at the new place. I waited much later to bait it this time and less than an hour later she was in it. 7 nights later!
She is completely fine, didnāt even seem that hungry. She is very happy to be home and is busy being my shadow.
Thanks again everyone for the support!

My cat Jack is missing. Heās been MIA for over a week. He is primarily a house cat, occasionally venturing about 10ā from the back door to sit on the patio table. Never any farther.
Iāve looked everywhere for him - throughout the house, even in rooms I know have been shut up. Under the back porch, under the house, in the attic. I even looked in the rafters above the covered front porch (and saw a shed snake skin hanging from the rafters! ). I even looked in the crisper drawer in the refrigerator, even though I knew there was no way he got in there. I thought about him possibly being attacked by my several large dogs - theyāre good with cats, but still - things happen. But in the rare event that the dogs have killed something (like the possum in the yard this week), they leave the body alone. And with two german shepherds, a doberman, a giant schnauzer, a standard poodle and an english setter, coyotes arenāt coming in my fenced yard. Iāve been down to the barn twice a day, and called for him there, even though heās never been down that far. Iāve walked the road and my pastures looking for his body.
Strangely, my gray cat Spike has been hanging out in the house all week, when normally heād split his time between the house and barn. Heās scarcely moving from the kitchen chair the Jack likes to sit on. I keep hoping for some āTimmyās in the wellā signs from any of the animals, but no such luck.
Iām just so worried and I canāt get him off my mind. Iād honestly rather know he was dead then not find any trace of him.

Any luck with your kitty?
annaās girl I didnāt post earlier but Iām glad your kitty cat showed up! Itās so scary when theyāre missingā¦
StG-Iāll mutter a request to St Francis for Jack⦠Iām not Catholic but my MIL is Catholic enough for all of us and for some reason it always seems to work to reach out to the saints.
Great news OP!!! I love happy endings!!
So glad sheās home in good condition!!
annaās girl - No luck yet. I checked the neighborās house and have been walking the fields and woods.
cowboymom - Oh, yeah. Iāve been hitting up St. Francis, St. Anthony (patron saint of lost things) and St. Jude (hopeless causes). So far Jack doesnāt appear to be Catholic.

I highly recommend the trap, I now believe she may have come up sooner and ate dry food I put out. I also donāt know if I would have been able to get her to walk right up to me since the feral instinct is what got her in this mess in the first place.
Hope you find your kitty.
Aww, Iām so glad to hear this.
StG - I hope your cat comes back soon too.
My stipey tiger cat has gone missing. Again. Crossing my fingers heās gone back to the old house again. Itās such an awful feeling.
