Oh, I do hope he remains stable! He hunted before I got him, so he’s been exposed to fast runs, jumping and flying about. He’s probably going to get bored packing my sorry arse around Second Field, but oh well! I do appreciate the warning. He’s such a sane, sweet horse that I could get easily lulled into a false sense of security.

Though I can relate that a qh I hunted for twenty years, once I was mainly whipping in off of him, did every now and then get a bit peeved with being relegated to the field! But even when one has no brakes, there’s always steering!
As between first and second field, less of a concern in my experience- they ‘know’ that’s their group and don’t typically get concerned about what others are doing.

it is just so much fun for both the rider and the horse.
there will come a day when you look at those plodding around indoors all winter and think they are just nuts.
while they may think the same of us we at least know better.
