You need to get another Burrito and name it Guacamole.

And then any time anyone wants to see or pet Guacamole, you have to look them dead in the eye and scream “GUACAMOLE IS EXTRA!!!”

The services should be billed to someone who used them.

As an aside, does anyone else think that far too many independent contractors are willing to bill for cancelled services? If you book me to braid for you and you scratch and your horse is never braided, I think a cancellation fee would be warranted, but not the full fee. When you choose to do free lance work, it’s a risk you take and should be figured into your rates.
My braiding list changes almost daily from what I was originally expecting. There is no charge for that. I did go to a show for one barn who ended up scratching and neglecting to tell me. They happily paid my expenses since I made the trip for nothing.

I knew of a trainer that would charge owners for full training and then charge the lesson students who did the training for the lessons.
I know trainers who leave the horses braided for the second day, but charge the customer for two days. Your would be correct in assuming those braiding feeds are never seen by a braider. I wouldn’t braid for someone who did that.

If the OP and her trainer worked it all out, I wouldn’t judge get harshly for that. She said she liked the horse and trainer and that’s a hard combination to replicate sometimes. Maybe the trainer fell on her sword and it’s all good now.

I need closure

if the trailer falls on her sword, that’s a $100 fee to the client billed under “services rendered- eating crow”

:)

It’s about time the trailer made an appearance. It’s only a matter of time before we find the pony and the saddle.

Yes, I had to pick on you for your typo :stuck_out_tongue:

LOL!

OK so I am apparently really bad at searching for old threads on COTH. Anyone care to share any of the below

The Open trailer thread
Blue Saddle
Arabian Jumper

I need stuff to pass the time while I patiently wait for an update form OP!

Open Trailer and Blue saddle are the same thread about a horse that Manni was giving away but decided to keep.
Here is the thread

THank you thank you!!! Less productivity, more juicy COTH threads

Ahhhh, but is it an OPEN trailer??

C’mon, OP, we DO need an update!

Arabian Jumper is in the Favorites Forum, scroll down to the bottom of the Forum menu. You might also enjoy Florida Horse Saga if you want to read one with good, solid closure.

Update, please?!?

(and green arrow for me)

Heck, I need a dramatic reading of this entire thread by Morgan Freeman at this point!

Nothing? Nada? Are we to be left without an ending?

Damn.

I keep getting excited when this gets bumped up.
Me too! And now I’ve probably made someone else excited by bumping the thread up.

(also adding my arrow)

As I posted in another thread … no matter how riveting a COTH thread, never be surprised if an OP doesn’t come back with an update. Especially after page 3. :DThere is always a chance some reader (who may or may not be posting) who knows the people involved will recognize a situation and rat out the thread back in the real-life barn. If that causes enough sensitivity, it may be better for an OP not to come back. In fact, be glad if the posts aren’t deleted (doesn’t hurt for someone to quote an OP’s posts to preserve the info in case of later deletion).

Also, it could be that an OP is hung up on an incomplete solution, or an unsatisfying one, and doesn’t want to hash it out on the internet.

In these situations of a long delay for an update that may never be coming, but some readers are still hanging on with an intense need for closure, I feel it is perfectly acceptable for readers to make up their own endings. Although I wouldn’t post them, personally, as it would just be a derail. Or at least flag them as completely fictional creative works. Just a thought - me, I like happy endings for the OP (if OP isn’t a complete scoundrel, and no one ever portrays themselves as such).
