US Team Announced for Tokyo

To be clear, I don’t think it’s a bad record at all. Incredibly impressive. But she finished behind our named 2021 Olympic team members at just about every meeting.

I do believe that Kentucky was a mandatory observation outing. That said, I’m 99% sure they were there, since I believe Ariel and Simon did the 5* test ride.

Except for at the biggest events in the world when it matters, like Burghley and Luhmuhlen. 5* top finishers are world contender horses.

I agree she is worth the risk to Tokyo but US would never.

Just watched the trot ups. Deniro Z didn’t look super sound…:grimacing:

Now I see that he sprung a shoe & has had farrier issues for the last few weeks. I wonder if they’ll put him on the plane? Such a talented pair but it seems risky.

It looks like it’s been a few weeks & you assume that growing some hoof wall is the problem. Maybe, maybe not…:woman_shrugging:t2:

I was only joking, but I meant they have a few weeks. You think hes been lame for a few weeks?

These pre-competiton “team outings” have been largely useless in the past for prepping… I remember they did this right before WEG at Great Meadow a few years ago, and it was basically a participation medal event for the US team. :woman_shrugging:t3:

I think the main thing for this one was to ride the new Olympic dressage test in front of judges and get feedback.
