Use of dormosedan gel for trailering horses

J-Lu, do you mean you use a 1/3 of a dorm tube for trailering? How long does it last/are you trailering?

I’m sorry if I wasn’t clear!

I use 1/3 dose for shoeing. My horse has a terrible habit of looking fine in his face while he yanks feet away from the farrier. I initially tried the dose to his lbs (the full dose, essentially) and he was lethargic for hours and sweat and peed alot. Over time, I honed the dose so he’d be lethargic when my farrier came, often had to pee between front and back feet, and didn’t sweat so much. He was ready to go out to his pasture after about 45 minutes of shoeing and got lunch instead of breakfast those days.

I don’t think I’d ever use dorm and then trailer a horse. I don’t think they have the capacity to fully balance themselves and Id think the experience would lead to hesitation to wanting to trailer.
