Used truck success stories

I just saw a 2001 7.3, but I think they wanted almost 9k for it. 195,000 miles.[/QUOTE]

Believe it or not, the engine is just. that. good. (and I say this as a Ford hater!) and people will pay that for those trucks, provided the body has held up.

There’s one that was just posted on one of my local Facebook forums for $10k with over 300k! And it’s had tons of interest at that price, a waiting list of folks calling “dibs.” The body and interior are flawless, however.

Yep, GFAG – I practically stole mine through negotiation & I’ve put 70k of the 175k it has on it. But it was pristine when I bought it & I do impeccable maintenance because I intend to drive it for all 300-400k it will easily run. Just pulling comparable listings, people would cage-match for it at $10k (long bed, extended cab, SD XLT). But that’s why maintenance is so important no matter what the vehicle. Not that I’ll EVER sell it (heck, I’ve still got at LEAST 15 more years in it easily, just replacing regular wear parts), but if things changed, nothing holds its resale value better in that class.
