USEF Medal Finals

Traditionally scores are not announced for this event. Just a standby that gets updated throughout the day.

If it started at 8:15, they are averaging about 25 trips an hour, for those who are trying to plan their viewing schedule. Add on a few minutes for periodic breaks to drag the ring.

Thanks! I was wondering if there is a reason they’re only announcing a standby list during the drag and no scores?

IIRC it’s been two days for a few years now (unless I’m thinking the Maclay) because it’s such a super huge class that the second round and tests were being done so late at night. Splitting it into a two day format allows you to start at a more reasonable hour and not be showing at midnight. But also I can see the outdoor setting being a factor as well.

this the first year that it is over two days

Is COTH doing rider-by-rider analysis anywhere this year? I couldn’t find a link to the article.

They said via Twitter that they’re not. I’m super sad cuz I’ve always loved that article.

The Medal and Maclay finals both do not traditionally have numerical scoring.

Me too. Hopefully next year circumstances will permit them to attend again!

Did anyone happen to catch the first standby?

First standby list - have the numbers but not the names. Maybe someone can fill them in.

Oops, looks like initiate and I posted at the same time.

That was a great ride by Augusta. Loved that inside turn to the natural rail.

Did anyone else do a double take that Mark Leone is riding in this class?

Baylee McKeever was quite nice just now. I love that she maintained a working pace.

The rain is so loud! It must be pouring there.

Lovely round by Grace Debney. Beautiful, soft rider who’s totally in sync with her horse.

And what a horse. That one makes me get hearts in my eyes. She rode a lovely round, I agree. Of the rounds that I’ve seen (admittedly, just in the past hour) I have her second.

Will you share your rankings? I find that interesting.

I root for Juliette Joseph after reading an article about her in COTH last year. Her horse looked a little impressed with the jumps or something.
