what’s his height?
He’s somewhere between 16hh and 16.1hh. A good size for staying sound!
Rodawn he hasn’t been presented to the warmblood breeders UK. He has been presented and graded by SHB(GB) and AES (Anglo European Studbook). I have no doubt that he will shortly be invited to join a lot of other European studbooks too following his success at the European championships.
You can watch his winning test here:

i still love blue horse matine the best…the way she flopped her ears when she piaffed and her expression…what a mare!
I love her the best too. Its why I’ve used her sire Silvermoon twice in the hopes of breeding a mini-Matine. Sadly my mare hasn’t co-operated and has given me two colts. They are nice colts though.
how are your silvermoon’s? all that you wanted?
The silvermoons are fantastic horses. If they had been fillies they would have been exactly what I wanted. The yearling is in an eventing home and has gone from being very shy and flighty to having his feet trimmed in a field without a head collar on! He is starting to look very grown up and has not hit the fugly stages yet. He is very blood in type and extremely elegant with lovely conformation and a great front. He has also got Silvermoon’s powerhouse hind end.
This years colt is more substantial than last years, more of a dressage build. He is still very elegant. He has bigger movement with more knee action and the same great angles in his quarters. He will probably end up taller too, probably 17hh. This one is also shy and flighty (but so was their dam at the same age) but he is also naughty. So once he is weaned he is going to have intensive handling to tame him and see if he comes round like his dam and brother did. If that happens he will be run on as a colt. If he stays naughty he’ll become a gelding.
I heart Uthopia and Carl Hester! That was great to watch while the oats were cooking! Totilas and Gal got me hooked on Dressage, and now Uthopia and Carl will keep me watching!
Terri
SS, you may not have gotten your keeper filly by Silvermoon, but perhaps you may from Uthopia?
And I love your part about the size. As someone who has a mare that throws overly large children, think height and large everywhere, it’s hard to find really good smaller stallions. I want 16.1 max and short coupled for Stella. Hard to find. If I was breeding dressage I’d love this horse.

Regarding his ride - BRAVO AND BEAUTIFUL. So wonderful to see a powerful AND relaxed peformance!! Correct and a total joy to watch. The lightness was incredible.
Carl Hester is so personable it’s going to be a lot of fun with him having such a grand horse that he rides and presents in such a super fashion.
It’s going to be great over the next few years, with Totilas and Uthopia and someone like Laura Bechtolsheimer and her “Alf” and a whole wide assortment of really lovely horses and interesting (and some fairly fun) riders out there. There are a raft of really great riders, young and established, and superstar horses out there. Lots to love.
It makes me wish I was going to be at the 2012 Olympics.
Wow! That was quick!
I just received an email back from Sasha, who is Uthopia’s owner. She states that she will not be shipping frozen to Canada, United States, Australia or New Zealand as the required 30-day stay at the stud farm would cause too much disruption to his competition and training schedule. She is anticipating that perhaps 2013 might be a realistic goal.
So, obviously, after he has competed in the Olympics.
It’s really nice that he is approved KWPN and GOV, as well as AES for Great Britain.
When will the Hanoverian Verband sign him up I wonder?
Sigh… I guess I’m one that will have to wait until after the Olympics to have any chance of getting his semen.
