Value of endurance horses

I don’t think it makes a difference what the Arabs were bred for, and in fact many farms that breed for Arab racing sell off their retired/failed stock to endurance riders.

The fact is still that there are TONS of Arabs out there that can still be had for under $700…sometimes even free.

Some of the top endurance arabs in Britain are ex racers (decent ex racers ) However it does seem that( if you are prepared to sell to them) the Group vii countries are the ones who are able/willing to pay the big money that these proven horses should command.:frowning: Apparently they “talent scout” at many of the big French rides.

Moosie…is Arab flat racing big in the UK? I know it’s big in France and there was quite a To-Do here in America 10+ yrs back about accepting many of the French Arabs into the American registry…many folks claimed they weren’t PB.

It IS a fact that alot of the French racing Arabs don’t look much like Arabs…but I don’t think that’s alarming. Very often if you breed for use/purpose you might lose “type”.

These guys don’t look much like Arabs, do they?

Kyzteke - I did reply but it seems to have disappeared! Love the horse in the link - dont care if he look much like an Arab or not  Theres a certain amount of Arab racing in the UK- the sheikhs and the Omanis are heavily involved and the French come over for the big international races on TB cards. Im not racing atm but have done so for years (only as a one horse owner/trainer though!) Amer, French sires in general and also Burning Sand are influential atm. Some American imports have also done quite well.

I paid 425 bucks for my boy, an unbroken 4 and a half year old.
