Vasculitis with white legs

No judgement on the slow response. My girl flared in June and didn’t fully heal until December because we treated as mud fever as well.
I actually got so frustrated with the whole ordeal in the fall that I fell down a rabbit hole trying to figure out what the heck was wrong with her legs. I found leukocytoclastic vasculitis and showed it to my vet. So that was probably October that we started Dexamethasone and consistent 24/7 wrapping. Also forgot to mention don’t excessively wash or put anything on it at all. It doesn’t need anything else to piss it off hahaha.

I figured out the alfalfa down my rabbit hole. I found all the research about photosensitivity with alfalfa etc. There was also a vet who was heavily involved in the vasculitis scene and he strongly encouraged no alfalfa for these horses. I followed all his suggestions and I give credit to his advice on why I have been flare free for so many years.
I will have to see if I can find his information, it’s been quite a few years now and I can’t remember his name

Oh I forgot one thing, we also added a monthly Eqstim injection for immune support boost.

I had a raging case of it. Vet thought it was scratches and kept having me shave the legs which made it worse. Keeping it clean and out of the sun is what healed it. Fly boots worked well.
