I think the probability that he colicked is high. We don’t know how many NSAID’s he was on and what other medications were keeping him functioning. That plus heat could send him into a spiral. Although I have been tracking the weather in middle Tennessee so I could make a hay run and they have not had an especially hot summer up there ( I think that is where she is located). But I imagine his medical condition was precarious and probably anything could have sent him down the slope.

Those delusional, clueless commenters remind me of the Friends of Barbaro nutjobs - like the woman who had a shrine to Barbaro in her tiny apartment and proudly posted pictures of it, had never been near a horse and said that Barbaro communicated with her in the grocery store and told her what to buy. They were insanely furious when he was put down. Then we had the extreme Chromies who sensed from photos that California Chrome was speaking to them and asking them to save him from being in Japan. They freaked out at pictures of Chrome being shipped to England or Chile… how DARE anyone deliberately torture dearest Chrome and “stick him in a little box like cargo”. They were clueless about how horses are flown to Europe or Dubai or anywhere else in the world. But they knew better - Chrome assured them of that.

Reading “Chromies” made my eye start twitching, I had forgotten about that group.
I feel like the Baby Seven followers are gunna be 5x worse, even more so since the colt is gone.

I can’t ever say I’m glad an animal has been euthanized, but I will say I’m glad that Seven is no longer in pain and I hope that the hate messages to Katie stop soon.
I personally know several people who have fallen for the ‘one more thing’ slippery slope of medical intervention. It’s easy to judge when we can look in, but it’s not so easy to make that call when it’s your animal. Making that choice is so hard and having millions of people second guess you at the same time would be a nightmare.

We all knew Seven’s end time was coming because of Katie’s recent posts. The poor colt was undoubtedly very fragile and a colic episode was the final straw. I don’t even want to imagine him trying to physically deal with the colic pain. I’m glad it’s over for the poor little guy.
I’m hoping Katie learned a lot not just about the ramifications of horse care decisions, but also about herself and her most ardent followers. Maybe she’s gained some insight on how unhinged some of them are and she’ll pull back a little bit. Based on those comments, some are of the same ilk as this bunch

But yet you all keep attacking kind condolences like they are hate speeches. Go after the people that are not mind and leave the rest alone, if you feel you must do this “for Katy” but don’t pretend yelling at kind comments makes you better.”

Well, whenever she does turn the comments back on, she’s sure to get swamped. As a fellow horsewoman, I do have some sympathy for her having a horse euthanized due to colic. However, the resultant social media circus is a monster of her own creation. Sooner or later she’ll have to confront it.

Her comments are on currently when I last looked at Facebook, they were shut off and deleted on the post about Seven. Some where amazingly disgusting. The rest of the Facebook posts are being heavily monitored due to the hateful things people are saying. I imagine the rest of her social media is equally bad.

Obviously not well, considering the number of times she’s posted on FB trying to explain that he wasn’t going to be around much longer. She’s said in many posts she didn’t expect him to be around long (he’s here for a good time, not a long time).
I don’t think she counted on them being so damned crazy.

What horrific comments. While these influencers have chosen to make their livings off of social media, posts, and videos, they should never be subjected to such unfeeling, unnecessary, hateful comments. They know and probably expect to receive negative comments and backlash on certain things, but NO ONE deserves to have personal attacks. There was recently an influencer - I believe fox rescue? - who killed herself because of the awful comments she received on videos. It’s unbelievable what people think they can get away with behind a screen.

I believe it was fox rescue. I read about it either here or on the reddit snark. She committed suicide and left a husband and a young child, if memory serves, a daughter.
I don’t agree with everything KVS does, but she has talked about her eating disorder, and has done so well and lost a lot of weight lately, some of the comments on top of the last week that she’s been honestly posting about Seven’s time left are extra hateful. I sure hope her team is blocking them as they pop up. Nobody deserves that crap aimed at them for putting down a horse that was so compromised, that she has said she would not wait again. Reading for comprehension is a lost skill it appears, she’s been warning them for weeks.
