Hard to think there is another side to this story.
I can’t watch this``` someone tell us what it’s about … gently ~
I can’t watch this
someone tell me gently what it is about ~ TIA i think
I looked up the vet clinic to verify that she is truly a vet there - the clinic’s first page is talking about the picture and that they have parted ways with that vet.
She has been fired. And the sheriff is conducting a criminal investigation. I am sure the state board will also be conducting an investigation.
She worked for my vet and has actually been to my place several times to treat my horses. Needless to say, it was rather disturbing to discover this today.
It is horrible. The woman, a “vet” killed a beautiful gold/white cat with a bow &arrow. She claimed it was a feral, but someone near her said it was a neighbors’ pet.
Heartbreaking picture. People bombarded the vet clinic where she was employed with calls, & emails and they claim she was fired.
She is a worthless piece of dirt. Hope she gets arrested for cruelty.
My hands would be around her neck !
OMG ! My hands would be around her neck !
This makes me sick.
I’m generally a pretty peaceful person, but I’m glad that this little piece of dirt lives on the other side of the country.
From what I read the cat was owned by an older couple, and they are understandably devastated. The original sheriff who had hundreds of phone calls to his dispatchers investigated, and found that it happened in the next county. That county’s sheriff is investigating, and the vet was fired.
It simply amazes me that someone is so cruel to do this, and posting the picture the way she did was absolutely stupid.
Unfortunately there are lunatics in every group. Hopefully the poor kitty passed instantaneously. This quote from a Washington Co., TX resident makes me realize there are some things/people I will never understand and do not care to: “All these people in the cities just don’t understand what goes on in the country and they get in an uproar. They ought to just mind their own business.” Ugh.
This is just disgusting. She should be fired, and I support having her license revoked. I am a vet, and I am embarrassed that this woman is a member of my profession.
This is terrible… having lost my kitty in February due to him being accidentally let outside by a roommate, I cannot imagine what those people are going through. I would be devastated if I found out somebody killed Simba
Saw a posting where apparently the cat was first caught in a leg trap before it was shot. I’d be sick if I knew someone like that had ever touched any of my animals.
What a disgusting excuse for a human being.:mad:
While I don’t agree that killing cats is just what goes on in the country, I am also not a fan of people from out of state calling the vet clinic and harassing the staff. The vet in question was fired today yet that did not keep people from continuing to call the clinic. The staff and other vets are trying to take care of clients and patients and are having to spend time answering hateful phone calls from people that don’t even live in the area. I don’t understand what else people from out of the area want. The clinic fired her - there is nothing else they can do. They can’t arrest her and they can’t revoke her license. I’m sure the clinic’s owner will cooperate with the sheriff that is doing the criminal investigation and the state board.
What Ms. Lindsey did was horrible and there is absolutely no justification for it. She has been fired and there is a criminal investigation that is in process. I am sure numerous complaints have been filed with the state board. I am confident that she will get what she deserves.
Just stopped in to post the news story.
Glad she is fired. Who DOES that kind of thing?
So sad for the couple who lost their pet.
I am appalled and embarrassed for my profession.
Yeah, I have 2 yellow barn kitties that started life feral. Got them as kittens. The male is now very friendly but the female is still pretty feral. I can only pet her if she is eating and not really paying attention - LOL I got both of them fixed when they were kittens at this vet clinic (since they are my regular horse vet and do small animals also.)
Anyway, the male kitty was begging for attention tonight and it made me really sad for the poor couple that had their cat killed. It’s really awful.
TVMA has put a statement out basically condemning the action and stating it goes against their standards. Hopefully the revocation of her license will happen quickly.
This is awful!!!
There is a special place in hell for people like this!
She was incredibly stupid posting that pic on a social media site. What in hell was she thinking?? What is it about Facebook that turns peoples brains to mush? It just boggles the mind what people post for the world to see when they think they are only showing their handiwork to a few select friends.
Nothing will come of the criminal complaint. She didn’t shoot the cat on its own property, and she may well have been property owner having issues with feral cats who aren’t protected by law. Feral cats are (sadly) labeled a nuisance in many locales. Trapping and euthing are what most city people expect. But country people are more apt to use a .22, and just toss the carcass into the woods.I doubt whether an arrow can be construed as cruel as a bow it is an effective hunting weapon with its own season.
I doubt she’ll have her license revolked, either. Hunting isn’t a justifiable reason to suspend a license. She’ll just have to lay low for a while, and move elsewhere - like California. And maybe go into research rather than general practice.
But I’ll bet she learned a lesson. SS…AND S.
