Thanks, that answers my question. Which was “How does a horse get sold if someone else has the lease?” I assume she wasn’t leasing it? That is a very generous offer to let her ride Clearway, a horse Dignelli said is “maybe the best horse I’ve ever had”
caitlin boyle is a great great rider of course, but clearway looks so much better with tori. don’t think caitlin and clearway are the best fit. again, not a better of her not being great, just a matter of fit.
Here’s a question. What is the point of someone who is already showing very successfully and winning at the Grand Prix level competing in the 3’6" equitation? Isn’t the equitation division traditionally viewed as preparation for higher level jumping? Nothing wrong with continuing to work on one’s equitation, of course. But it just seems a bit strange and besides the point in the scheme of things, given the original intent of the division.

well, it depends what you are trying to say. are you suggesting that once you do a grand prix you have clearly mastered the lower jumps? like doing the equitation would basically be ‘boring’?
No, not that it would be boring. Just that kids that are already winning at the Grand Prix level have already “proved” themselves to a certain extent. They have already achieved what the division was intended to do.

I think winning the Big Eq is probably a goal in and of itself these days, even for the kids who have proven themselves at the bigger stuff.
Apples and oranges there. Nothing wrong with enjoying both.

agreed. completely different.
Well looks like Caitlin gets along quite well with her new mount! 92!!

do we know who the mount is? My boss came in and interrupted if/when they said its name
Loredo, owned by someone out of Missouri
Loredo, she’s leased him for a while - at least all of last year, and maybe before that.

yeah it’s technically her “old” mount. she looks much better on him than on clearway. that was beautiful.
I hope Caitlin and Tori switch in the final round so Caitlin can ride Clearway
I am always the first to root for the underdog (and, um, vice versa) but I seriously doubt it is possible to buy a big eq win. Those courses and tests ask the rider a lot of questions that the horse can’t answer on his own.

exactly. and these horse are not easy, they are just well-trained. i had an amazingly well-trained, ex-grand prix, experienced eq horse and i used to say “he’s push button if you push all the right buttons the right way at the right time.” the horses are CAPABLE but you need to have the skills to ride them and be precise.
Totally agree. Both are great riders, but IMO Lillie has the edge when it comes to stylish equitation. Doesn’t make Tori any less of a rider though
With the money from Clearway, I imagine Andre will buy a few new equitation mounts for his string!!

I agree with you, but just for the information of the general public, Logan actually did break the top ten again – with Lillie Keenan, no less: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tBrFeb49z9I[/QUOTE]
True I did miss that and he did place with Chelsea Moss at WIHS in the lower Top 10 one year.
But the point is, he never reached the same level of success that he had with Brianne. I’m sure Chelsea’s and Lillie’s family paid quite a bit of money for him but they obviously did not buy any wins.

could you imagine if lillie had logan NOW?
