She has a trainer working there that is doing such a terrific job with the young ones too. Her horses are having success in all aspects of the hunter- jumper world. Last Laugh Farm in PA
I am always very impressed with the ability of David and Ellen Brown of Last Laugh Farm to pick young or little known stallions for their breeding program and watch as they become the next “big sire” to watch out for. They always seem to be several steps ahead of the breeding curve. They have produced many foals that have gone on to be successful in all rings. When I have a client looking, they are my first go to for young prospects. In fact, we are very excited about the 3 year old we are getting from them next month.

Good thread. I don’t have personal experience of many mentioned here, and know more dressage breeders than hunter or jumper specialists, so it is good to hear references. I certainly agree about Nancy at Crosiadore, and Eliza. Both make great breeding choices, start with great mares, and produce wonderful foals. And Kendra - you too do a great job, and are focused on quality and continued learning.

Twist of Fate Farm, home of the late Triple Twist xx. Melissa has some awesome young stock from Trey, including a Conn x filly I am obsessed with. She has been so helpful to me as well, I am a young breeder just starting out.
I bought my horse from Rivervale Farm in Nisland, South Dakota. It may seem an unlikely place to find a quality warmblood, but let me tell you, the horse I bought, RF Latten, has been such a quality horse in mind and gaits, plus he is tough - can handle a Montana winter no problem and handles the tough insects well in summer.
I am from California, lived there all my life and trained dressage there for many years before moving to Montana 12 years ago, and this horse has been my favorite amongst all the hundreds I’ve ridden or trained. When I took a lesson with my trainer (successful Grand Prix trainer) when he was just a 5-year-old, I mentioned to her he had a full younger brother that I wished I could purchase. Well, at the end of the lesson, she told me that if I could afford the youngster, I should buy him. I told her I didn’t have the money at the moment, and she said, “Well, do you mind if I buy him, then?” She actually ended up buying him! He is only 2 now, but I can’t wait to see my trainer bring him up.
Anyway, Patty and Craig are knowledgeable, down-to-earth, honest horse people, and I know that my next horse will also be from Rivervale. They have a lovely young stallion coming up too, RF Meistertanz, along with the handsome Lion King.

Although I just ride dressage, their horses absolutely excel in jumping as well. I just can’t say enough good things about these horses and Rivervale (obviously).
“For a WAY under the radar dressage breeder, I like Sherry Smith of Dogwood Sporthorses. She is a very small breeder - one or two foals at a time, and often skips a year, but she has quite nice mares and has put some really lovely foals on the ground. She gets a lot of interest in them from FEI trainers.”
We met Sherry at the GOV inspections in Alpharetta, Ga this past Fall and she is extremely, extremely nice and kind and helpful and had a beautiful colt and mare to present. She would be an amazing breeder to work with.

Thanks so much for the mention! We do a lot of research, and combined with our own preferences and that which we know the market desires, we try to balance a mix of the new and exciting with the tried and true.
I’ll have to go look because I know there are several I’d like to highlight here - there is a lady named Amanda in TX who we know, who has no real internet presence so it’s hard to direct anyone to her, but what she has is always amazing. She can sure make them!

I purchased my current young horse from GK Performance Horses http://www.gkperformancehorses.com in Andersonville, TN. Their breeding program is fantastic and I am beyond thrilled with my mare. Christoph and Haley were wonderful to work with, are very knowledgable, and VERY honest. I know where I will be going for my next young horse.
With that said, I also very much enjoy reading posts from Bayhawk and RyTimMick. These two posters have both given me some wonderful suggestions in regards to the Holsteiner breed.

I just came across this thread. Some great breeders mentioned here! I guess I’ll have to toot my own horn. My place, NeverSayNever Farm, is definitely off the beaten track, in Nova Scotia, Canada. I have been breeding KWPN horses since 1997, using one foundation mare, Never Say Never and her progeny. I breed mainly for dressage, but my dressage horses can jump. Never Say Never has being used to produce jumpers the last few years. There is an article in the latest issue of Canada’s Horse Sport magazine about breeders in the Maritime provinces, including me.

If I was looking for a TB or TB sporthorse cross, I’d probably hit up Gail Rogers at Tamarack Lane Farm in Ontario. The woman knows the difference between a race horse and a show horse.
While they are not probably “under the radar” breeders, I have a lot of respect for Bayhawk and RyTim Mick. No nonsense and they really know their stuff.

Since Cindy’s Warmbloods won’t recognize herself lol, I will. I don’t know her at all but have perused her site several times(ok a lot:) ). I love Warmbloods and I love Warmbloods in a pretty wrapper. She combines some fabulous stallions with some very well bred mares, and seems to NOT sacrifice type, movement, conformation and temperament for colour, which is known to happen in the ‘coloured’ world of breeders. That along with raising mares and foals in a big natural environment, and not a small dry lot, to me that is very important.

Another in Alberta is Spruceview Hanoverians. This is a young and up and coming breeder. This farm really puts a lot of thought into their breeding program. I look at this program as one that is bringing in the best of the best and turning the warmblood breeding in Alberta into a ‘newer age’ so to speak. (there are other great breeders here in AB that have been mentioned, I’m not singling anyone out). And it is incredibly refreshing. So a big vote for them:). If I were looking for a dressage FEI prospect, I would buy from them, or talking to them about bloodlines, because like I said before they really seem to be going above and beyond educating themselves on the breed, bloodlines and going outside the box especially in Alberta.
I don’t know either of these farms/people personally, but I follow the breeders, breed trends and news in my area and the CWHBA.

I have two Beste Gold babies now. One is 5, the other is 8 months… The 5 year old goes to the ring un-medicated, and trail rides… one of the easiest keepers on my farm… It took me about 6 months to put a finish on her as I bought her extremely green, jumps everything I’ve put in front of her and is just an all around nice horse…
The 8 month old filly already cross ties, gets baths on cross ties, loads onto the trailer, and has perfect manners in hand with only working her 2 days a week.
This stallion is by far one of the coolest horses I have had the pleasure of meeting. My good friend owns a 2 year old Beste Gold baby and he’s just as easy.
Wendy Staub definitely has some of the best bloodlines running through her foals and they all have some of the coolest personalities I have ever encountered.
