warmblood stallions with near perfect conformation..
See, if you just posted this pic without any information on the stallion’s performance, I would not be impressed with his conformation. There are a number of things I don’t care for.

But, as I said, the proof is in the pudding and, although I don’t breed jumpers, he seems to have more than proven himself in the arena.

However, I can’t stress enough that for a BREEDING stallion, what matters most is not who he is or even what he has done, but what he PRODUCES.
The confo shot looks to be not straight on and at a strange angle.

This is from another website listing him…

Notable Progency: E -Star was selected for the KWPN performance test in 2011 and Big Star Jr. was approved by the Zangersheide Stud Book in 2011. Both stallions had their first crop of foals in 2012.

But for the stallion to produce quality foals he him self must be of high quality…
…and the mare.

Oh…that is great to know. I know when we had a thread on the WBFSH Top Dressage horses some one who knows more than I do said that Negro would not be near the top if he hadn’t produced Valegro.

Not to be argumentative, because I LOVE Negro, but where did you get your stats? Do you have the names of the horses? I’d like to research them and see what sort of mare he’s crossing best with.
That could be said about the WBSHF rankings in general. One top horse can skew the rankings or a stud book placement.

You can find the data by logging into horse telex, select progeny sired by a specific stallion then use the drop down menu to select the level and it will show all the horses that have competed at a specific level. Not all horses are entered into the database so numbers could be higher.

If you are a KWPN member you can also look at what predicates his progeny have achieved in the online KWPN database, Elite, Ster, KEUR, Sport Prok Preferent Prestatie. For the breeder this is also valuable.

Negro has also been a valauble dam sire, producing the KWPN Approved stallions, Chippendale, Everdale Fairytale & Glamourdale.

Negro may not necessarily produce long legged, pretty, flashy moving high priced auction sellers but he does consistently, (like his sire Ferro) pass on excellent hind end mechanics for the higher levels - The ability to collect, piaffe and passage. This is a direct result of his hind end conformation.

I think TB Artrageous was in an article recently stating that he has awesome eventer conformation.
Yes, thank you for the mention. He was in Practical Horseman’s conformation clinic in May 2014. Here’s a link to the critique: https://www.facebook.com/ArtrageousatFoxHavenFarm/photos/a.425761627351.236169.299139422351/10152151573882352/?l=0ec978c6d0
It was a huge surprise as we had submitted the picture several years ago.

I saw Negro last week in “person” and he is a wonderful horse! But I really like his grandsons, Everdale and Glamourdale, by Lord Leatherdale! I expect a stallion to have it all… conformation, athletic ability, and disposition.

I just have to brag on our stallion in the hunter conformation arena…he is currently way in the lead for circuit champion in the green conformation hunter division at WEF this year. I put together a little video of his talents from this year so far…
