Watching Rolex online?

That’s pretty cool, Weather. How’d you come to choose him? Traits? History? Crossed paths with him somehow and was impressed?

and we’re back!

I have to say, I much prefer the commentary on USEF Network to what we’re getting on NBC sports right now. Nothing against NBC (grateful for the coverage), but having eventers doing the commentary makes a huge difference, IMHO. Those watching online instead of on TV shouldn’t feel bad about that!

I have always admired his riding, and he is so very nice. My first visit to Rolex (2003?) I ran into him near the main ring before the SJ and asked for his autograph. He spent the longest time just chatting with me, telling me all about Moonman, even discussing his father’s business, (I worked in the same field) and going on and on, I was in heaven. He makes it look effortless, I couldn’t help compare his ride to Boyd’s who looks like he is working so hard, all that pumping of the body and flapping arms going on.

I like the online coverage better as well, but I can see judging by the jumbling feeds how difficult it must be to manage online and separate tv coverage!

Mojito sure likes to cross canter

Agreed. I think it’s a job well done by everyone, though - USEF Network and NBC alike.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BETH PERKINS!!! SHOW THOSE KIDS HOW IT’S DONE!!!:yes::yes:

So not impressed by the coverage by NBC. They showed little to nothing of Sally Cousin’s ride on Sue. Argh. But way to go Sally! Clean with only a few time faults!

Let’s not forget to give credit to MLM. Both she and her horse are four* rookies AND she was the first one to even finish the course. She had not had the advantage of watching anyone ride to the end of the course.

Yea for the GP rider who has only been eventing for 18 months!!!

Her ride was great! I loved the comments when she was a bit surprised by a tree following the water.

What happened to Allison? She was in the lead but now she is in second? I missed why she got bumped down…

Recalculated her time to correct time and it added a little bit of time.

I really like the cutting between the different riders, not only to see more of each of their rides, but to really get to see the different riding styles. The comparison between Karen O’Connor and Andrew Hoy was very interesting, just the different style of ride.

MLM is making it look SO easy. Her and her horses look like pros (especially her first ride). they attacked the course- kudos to the SJ rider making it look easier than the pros!

And MLM gets both her horses around CLEAR!!!

Only 1.4(?) time penalties for Demeter, and she was Marylin’s better dressage score.

Is she the first person to have 2 clear jumping rounds?

She is AWESOME!~

A son of his was the first horse I bought in Ireland 12 years ago!! 18 hand sweet sweet horse. I watched Clover Brigade at Dublin and got to handle him a little at his home and then fell in love with a couple of his filly foals (out of another friend’s TB mare) then the 18hander’s full sister came up for sale and one thing leads to another…

I know a lot of Clover Brigades and a friend has one (out of a mare by Cruising’s sire, Sea Crest) who she took back to the US as an unbroke 4 yr old, and is now doing the A/O jumpers. Wonderful mare (Sea Brigade).

Several more are Eventing in the UK (including the UK FEHL winner a few years back!). I’d list the names, but can’t get at that right now.

I love them - I love their attitude, ability and temperament. When crossed with the Cruising bloodlines (as well as good TB), they are IMHO unbeatable.

They are also all hard to keep in the fields I want them in… Even the 18 yr old mare, who jumped out of a 5’gate when the hounds went by this past winter… with a blanket on, no less… we found her one set of footprints on the lawn…

Becky/Can’t Fire Me???

Anyone here what happened to Becky and Can’t Fire Me?

I LOVE the coverage and commentary until NBC breaks in - then it gets bad - that is when they show pictures of the jumps rather than the horses… and interviews rather than the riders on course… and the logo and theme song every 15 minutes…( I think that is required for TV)…

Does anybody know which horse was hurt and was taken away by ambulance? It was during the hold where they featured WFP’s dressage ride. The commentators don’t know either.

I know Becky Holder got flagged down at 29 for a vet check after blood was seen on him and eliminated (according to USEF twitter).

WOW

Just read the Cross country score board and it looks like only the cream has risen to the top. Going to be an interesting Show jump day.
What happened to Buck? he withdrew both his horses ? And poor Becky, eliminated on both horses?? I wish I could have gotten the live feed, sounds like it was an interesting day!
