According to my son’s co-workers, he talks about our cats a lot. Hats off to the two women that thought up and created this cake for his recent birthday.
@CanadianTrotter I made that cake for a party once. My recipe had me crumble a layer (8" round baked separately from the sheet) & color crumbs in 2 batches: blue & green to look like the litter. Not as many Tootsie Rolls used
I used a brand new poopscoop to serve
I had an, er, eccentric English teacher in high school who dressed up as a witch for Halloween and made “kitty litter” (aka muddy buddies) that she served with a poopscoop.
Same teacher sent us seniors out to the rest of the school to read The Cat In the Hat on Dr Seuss’s birthday. Need I say more? Best. English. Teacher. Ever.
It was touch and go for a couple of weeks, for sure … I was afraid we would lose him when he developed peritonitis. That Sunday morning emergency run, when his temp was 104, scared me to death.
They sent me pictures of everyone eating a piece. They went all out with helium balloons, streamers, cat ears party hats and drew cat faces on the paper plates.
He shares cat pictures with them too! Billie is his cat and she sleeps with him every night, because she adopted the Kittens With Mittens they pile on his bed through the night as well.
That’s adorable! Glad they took the artistic high road with the paper plates—I was reading your post and thinking the whole time that you’re going to say that they drew cat booties on the plates!
Here’s the candidate! I can’t get a nice still photo as if I’m close enough he’s walking over to me. He’s so friendly! He has striking blue eyes to go with his unusual washed-out gray tabby color.
Yes, you have to bring him home. Look at the floofy fat tummy! Look at the blue eyes! Just think how good he’ll look in your house! He is the perfect accessory!
