We need some cute Kitty pics to cheer us up

Haven’t posted one of Baby Clem in a while. She’ll actually be three in August but never grew larger than four pounds and still looks and acts like a kitten, so her nickname stands.

Pictures are from then and now: when Tricki Woo designated himself as guardian right after my still-to-be-determined neighbor left her on my back porch, clearly knowing that a sucker lives here; about a year ago play fighting with Murphy; and today sunning herself in the doorway.

That color cat goes with everything.

With those blue eyes and that silvery fur, he’s the Jethro Gibbs of kitty cats.

So I can tell my father and husband that CotH as well as my sister’s family (who want me to take him for his safety, since due to allergies their cats are barn cats and he hasn’t been welcomed in the barn) outvote them by a lot! Such enablers here! As if I didn’t know that when I posted

He’s beautiful! Have you thought of a name for the “candidate” yet? :upside_down_face:

Another vote from me! He’s really cute and he’s sweet and it sounds like he needs to be in a different situation.

When is he going home?

Poor thing, my niece already named him Sméagol. My sister tells me her girls think he’s kind of ugly (his eyes are a bit close-set and as has been noted he has a bit of a belly) and maybe touched (my observation is that he still has kittenish playfulness and no other young cat to play with so he sometimes chases phantoms).

If I can get him in a crate when I head home (Wednesday or Thursday) and go through with this, I’ll work on a new name!

What an absolutely gorgeous coloured cat!

Is she a tabby/calico/siamese mix?

if the cat is of good weight, does it follow he might have a home or did I miss something?

Who knows? Our only neighbors are not the sort to have cats with “fancy” genetics that just accidentally lost a kitten.

She was left on my high back porch that I never use. The stairs have no back boards and there’s no way this tiny kitten made it all the way to the top. I heard her crying and thought it was a bird. Eventually I came out—if I hadn’t, she would have died.

My theory is that a kid of the owner has heard me calling for my two cats every day and decided that I would be a good home. They came down through the woods, left the kitten and hoped it would be better with me than being drowned, used to train pit bulls, or dumped on the side of the road.

He looks like a blue point/tabby point mix. That would explain his pale coat and blue eyes!

He’s very handsome!

Yeah, we can come up with a better name! What does that name mean?

Glad that she’s with you.

It’s a Lord of the Rings name. It was the original name of the hobbit that became the creature Gollum.

Keeping the LOTR theme, how about Frodo? He started out his adventures a little chunky, but soon slimmed right down!

I feel like we’re getting ahead of ourselves! Don’t count your chickens before they’re hatched/cats before they’re crated! He’s friendly but skittish and very conscious of feeling trapped. But I got out my sister’s dog crate (a smallish one) and put it outside the run-in shed where Smeagol is fed and he seemed immediately comfortable going in for kibble, so maybe that will work with a quick slam. We have a couple days before I head home, to see how he reacts to me moving around it. My sister also has some live traps - skunk size, unfortunately, but she has caught a cat in one by mistake, and Smeagol is quite small. So I’ll tie one open and get him used to that, too.

And finally got a shot of his blue eyes!

He’s very gentle with teeth and claws when playing

Poor Dizz and Bird! They want to go out in the enclosure so badly but they know Ella is laying in wait.

We call her The Gatekeeper. She waits until they get part way out the doggy door)held in place with duct tape!), then she hauls off and whacks them. The only one she won’t whack is The Rotten One!

Bird’s braving it and going out anyways, Dizzy looks like he’s saying, “Make her stop mum!”
