WEC Ohio closed September 1, 2020 - March 31, 2021

I know of dozens of barns that do their season warm up in Ohio and then head to Florida for a few weeks. The clientele of the WEC Winter Series has become rather impressive over the last few years; it is some pretty serious competition now & boasts tax returns to match. In the middle of winter, when there aren’t any schooling shows in the Midwest or Northeast that aren’t indoors, and folks are perhaps a bit flush from not spending at the shows this year, I can absolutely see this driving a ton of business to Golden Ocala.

This is exactly why a group from my barn is planning to go; We do the Pre Adults and Adult Eq so points don’t really matter to us anyway. And given that we aren’t really spending anything on shows this year, we’ve been able to continue to save up for the trip!

FWIW, last time I heard, several of the weeks in Ocala were sold out and others were close to being sold out. And, this was back in March. I know they said you could cancel your stall reservations up to a certain date, if the rated shows didn’t come through, but that’s still showing a lot of interest in the Ocala facility.

I can see WEC Ocala being a HUGE draw for anyone who doesn’t care about points and just wants to show in Florida at a top-notch facility. I’d go here first out of any of the circuits. Looks great, wonderful draw for exhibitors, and hey! Maybe I’ll even get a ribbon! For the 99% of us who aren’t trying to go to Indoors every year, it’s an incredibly attractive option.
