WEG opening ceremonies on now!

Now that there are two of them, does that mean we’re twice as classy?

That’s what I meant - I can’t figure out why they are singing Carmen at the WEG.

Ah, I get it now - they’re accompanying horses. Not that anyone could tell!

Looks like I missed the good parts…I tuned in during the start of the weird dance routine, and now onto opera, and I’m giving serious consideration to turning the whole thing off…this is beyond boring. It’s tedious and dull…certainly not my idea of entertainment. Does anybody know if this is all it’s going to be for tonight? The music isn’t connected to the horses or what they’re doing…blech.

Good to see they’re cutting away from the opera occassionally to show the horse. Even the announcers have noticed.

I’m digging all of it! This is special stuff. Stop criticizing and try to get in the groove, or tune it out. In my opinion, this is a whole heck of a lot better than the multitude of crap on any channel/coverage tonight.

Such negativity…tsk, tsk.

P.S. Loved the Carmen!

In all seriousness, I wonder if equestrianism would get more street cred if our opening ceremonies were more badass and less opera?

I agree. If you hate it so much, turn it off! I’m enjoying.

Re Ali, he’s been not well for 20 years and they keep dragging him out, with people to hold him up so he won’t fall over. I say, let the guy stay home in peace.

As for opera singers and boobies, all sopranos have big ones, it’s a requirement, part of the show. Shows they have lung capacity.

You obviously are not a baseball fan

I am actually enjoying this a lot, I believe the point of this is to show the diversity of the USA.

There is an SNL marathon on which I find much more interesting than this ridiculous amount of opera going on. This is the WORLD EQUESTRIAN GAMES, I expected to tune into some really entertaining horse exhibitions… I think that’s a valid expectation that many of us had and is not being filled.

This.

If I’d bought one of the tickets, I’d feel I’d received my money’s worth!

Carr Hughes Productions from upstate New York weren hired to do the television coverage. Where do you expect them to find, in these United States, broadcast media producers and camera people who have a clue about horses? While European broadcasters regularly cover equestrian events you know that this doesn’t happen here in the US.

I would be very unhappy if I had PAID for this nonsense

Bring back the World Cup in Vegas – geesh - at least they didn’t show the bloody orchestra so much!!!

just to add - I thought we’d be seeing performances at the level or better of Cavalia … guess not

Enter rodeo queens.

Oh boy, Aaron Copeland.

they are both famous opera singers from kentucky I think they are showcasing the arts in Ky
