PS it might have relevance if they actually showed the riding

Oh boy, Aaron Copeland.[/QUOTE]
I have to say though as a classical person I am enjoying this, to a point.
Oh geez, now we got rope twirlersâŠ
I love classical music too, but I really expected to see more broadcast time of horses than of people in this. WTF was Alltech and/or USEF thinking to allow this idiocy!?

Which thrill the Brit announcers
The roper is so skinny he has to drink a beer to keep his britches up.
The commentators are as amused as we are. Who are they - anyone know?
And one of my favorite movie scores, from Silverado. Terrific.
Exactly. I like the music, actually, but I am not watching a music production (well, apparently I am, but I did not mean to be).
Denyse Graves is from DC, not KY. I donât know about the other woman (Iâm not an opera person, and didnât recognize her name).
The british announcers are getting a kick out of it.
âwe can only dream of doing thatâ tying a woman up with a rope.
Awwwright. now Tommy Turvey! He is at least worth watching. I have seen him in person and he is a gifted trainer, in unusual things he gets the horses to do.
Jeanie
p.s. Eitan Beth-Halachmy is definitely an improvement over opera!!! Edited to add now Stacy Westfall, very cool. I am so glad they are getting back to focusing on horses.
Carr Hughes Productions from upstate New York weren hired to do the television coverage. Where do you expect them to find, in these United States, broadcast media producers and camera people who have a clue about horses?
They supposedly have experience covering equestrian events⊠And I did offer my services as producer/director but didnât even get the courtesy of a reply (and I am fully qualified.) Oh well, we get what we demand, and not enough of us demand coverage.
This is probably all over the European TV networks, but here? No one even knows itâs happening
And the Olympic opening ceremonies isnât just pole vaulting. Itâs Kentuckyâs showcase, itâs the WEG organizing committee that puts it on.
Does anyone remember the name of the guy standing on the two horses? I thought it was really cool the few shots they showed and I bet thereâs stuff on youtube. Anyone?
Itâs a good thing the Freestyles to music are accompanied by prerecorded tracks instead of live musicians. Weâd never get to see the actual test, theyâd be focussing on the drummer.
The paints (very cute, both of them) both flat out was pretty funny!
Yes, there is an orchestra. WE KNOW!
The announcers are buzzing my speakers, wish they would quiet down a bit so I could turn it up load enough to hear the music.
I have to stop watching, it is too fracking irritating to wonder what Stacy is doing to get the crowd fired up while looking at musical instruments. Like the announcer blared, âWe didnât get to see all of that peformance on camera.â GAH!!!
Well I am enjoying it. And I love âShenandoahâ
Iâm sorry, but just when it gets interesting, they cut to the choir or orchestra. completely unnecessary. Heck, I like to listen to classical music with my eyes closed. Thereâs no need to see the musicians. Especially at the opening ceremonies of the world EQUESTRIAN games. Thereâs some seriously cool stuff going on while weâre all watching a symphony.
On a side note, is anyone else reminded of Rugged Lark just now.
Is it still on? I canât even find âlive streamâ. All I get is the promo video and I donât see a spot to choose live stream. But being in Canada, it may not work for me anyway.
OK, canât complain about Sarah Lee Guthrie and Stacey Westfall!
I love the announcers. âThe crowd, theyâre enjoying the symphony orchestra but theyâre enjoying the horses more.â Perhaps they could pass this along to their producers so we at home can also enjoy the horses more.
