WEG opening ceremonies on now!

Wow, what a good stream![/QUOTE]

That’s what I was just going to say - I’m amazed that the stream is up and functioning.

Oh man, I’d love to be seeing Stacy Westfall, too, but no…

I quit. I tuned in to see horses not singers.

“well we didn’t see all that much on camera but that was truly truly remarkable.” I love these guys

Are these pony clubbers coming out now?

I counted 15 seconds of horse then cut to music, then 10 seconds of horse then cut to music, then 5 seconds of horse…
I think the editor has terrible ADD. This is not MTV.
what an embarrassment to our incredibly talented equestrian performers like Stacy Westfall

Heh, even the annoying british announcers are getting annoyed by the camera work.

I think the editor has terrible ADD.

It’s actually the director in the truck. I think they’re cutting “live to tape.” But in any case, they’re a bit misguided and are cutting for a general, non-horsey audience, hence all the cutaways to orchestra and singers… Too bad.

Well it was almost worth it to hear “This land is your land” A great song for a world event. If you can get past the lack of horses and pretend you’re watching a concert of American music, it’s not so bad. I’d almost prefer they not show horses at all becuase then I wouldn’t feel the urge to toss my computer across the floor when they cut back to the musicians.

Ooh I think this is the worst so far

is the one announcer from the movie “best in show”? Not fred wilard, the other one. the one that knows what he is talking about…I love that movie.

me too! I’m getting furious with the editing!!!

If I were an atheist at this thing I would be ready to screech my tires out of the parking lot at this point.

well said, NCrider …

There is normally NO coverage of these types of events. So they have to figure out what is important to the audience for this segment of people (most people don’t want to see every move a horse makes and are more interested in the human performers). Some of you are taking this way too personally. I’m just trying to enjoy all the different aspects that are being presented.

LOL! I am just enjoying the COTH commentary about it all. You guys are hilarious! I guess we should have been there to see it all in person, and we could have seen the horses more…although, right now, they’re just singing, and I don’t think there are any horses in the ring at all. Bummer!

Ok WEG, cya tomorrow. My ears are ringing from this crazy music! I appreciate opera for what it is, but it’s not my idea of a good time! Although… I was looking through the scary reining photos on universalsports.com while that most recent opera was going on, it definitely adds some intensity…

They must be working up to the grand finale! Think it will be a Parelli demo?

What everybody said.:yes::yes::yes:

Grrrrrrrrrr.

You think we can send a link to this thread to the director of the USEF Network Opening Ceremonies? I can just see McLain heading down to a big oxer and the camera switches to crowd shots of people watching themselves on tv.

Well I definitely agree that the best part of this whole thing is refreshing this page to see what people have to say as the show progresses

Yeah, but this is a live stream. I mean, it’s not like anybody who isn’t totally into horses is watching. Or am I missing something?

Edited to add: I should say, I am really enjoying it. But share the frustration of watching the orchestra when there are amazing equestrian performers doing something…
