weird shoulder muscle development

he’s not lame at all and gets ridden 5 days a week. he doesn’t feel heavy in the rein or curl behind the vertical, but i guess he could still be on the forehand despite that? i suppose next time the vet is out for shots i will get his opinion and i’ll probably ask the farrier if he has seen it before too. classy’s a bit fatter this summer than he has been in the past so maybe he just finally has enough calories to actually put on more muscle.

Well he looks like a really nice horse. If you put up some photos or videos, it might just show that that’s his normal way of going to bring the shoulder forward quickly and he’s just getting more shoulder muscle definition with time.

location

Class, if you give me a location, I can check if one of the instructors I studied with or more advanced bodyworkers I have met are in your area. I would love to see a video too to get a better understanding of how he uses himself.

i don’t have any way to get a video of him up, but he is in ridgefield, washington if you have any references, i would have them out to massage and evaluate him. thanks!

Check your pm I sent you a reco.

Awesome responses. this is what I was trying to avoid in my horse when I made the querey about the overcheck rein as my mare escapes by inverting when longed ( and when ridden) and a trainer told me to try longing to watch how she moved and then use two sets of side reins (all leather from bit to top of surcingle and stretchier from bit to side parallel to ground). She still inverts but is getting better. The theory is that the top line is weak and therefor, causing funny things in the lower neck and shoulder.
Just an addendum
