Welsh pony owners

My vets have always said this, but they include ALL pony breeds. Something about the about of tranq needed is inversely related to their size. Funny ponies.

All are very light and responsive, no nagging needed from my legs, easy to rate to a fence and no need to haul on their mouths to steer or halt - only a shift in body weight and a stilling or change of direction of the seat.

what riding animals should be

I have one who I am just starting, she is proving to be much like her siblings - that born broke type we all hear about…oh and she’s half TB. Given my others, despite her TB parent being a doll, I am not exactly quick to give all the credit to the TB half  but then you must realize that this is MY perspective.

you have made Maria and I smile on our lunch break

My experience has been that they are very easy.

My Section A is the easiest equine I’ve ever dealt with honestly. Sensible, perfect amount of sensitivity, EASY to train, wants to please, not a mean bone in his body. I have, however, seen some Section A’s that have been very hot. The breeds that he has been crossed on he has really brought forth those traits as well.

I have three Section B’s, they are all VERY different personalities, but all lovely animals. One is super sweet, mellow, easy easy easy. Another is incredibly smart, a real “look at me”, more sensitive, but very level headed. And the stallion is a little cautious of things are first, but is also very smart, and I’ve noticed he really bonds to “his” person. Most B’s I’ve met have been very easy.
