western dressage show shirt help

I like earth tones on reds. I agree that black can be too much of a contrast. Then play up your earth tone pants/chaps with a top (or a few!) you enjoy!

I don’t know, maybe if I felt confident enough to pull off a cream colored shirt and chaps…but won’t rust or other earth tones make me blend in with my horse?

There are a couple of brownish (they call it whiskey) outfit on this first page of this link, also some cream and olive ones. I personally don’t like the cream colored chaps but maybe a cream colored top with a brown chap.

Oh, I really like this one: https://hobbyhorseinc.com/rider-apparel/tops/womens-jackets-tunics/shalimar-show-tunic

Not so much the price tag though. Will have to think about that one. I was hoping to stay under $100 for the top so that I could spend a bit more on nice chaps.

Also wondering what color chaps I would wear with the navy blue/brown top?

I have a lot of navy blue stuff for her, and love how she looks in it (it was our “color” before I switched to purple). What does everybody else think?

On a whim I ordered a couple of the zip up rail blouses in solid colors from Rods online… They are of similar (not exact) quality to the Hobby Horse solid zip ups. . They come in a teal color that would look lovely with your ponies coloring. Right now they are an additional 30% off the sale price too. Cheap! I also splurged on the HH Portia vest because there are a few sequins but nothing too loud ?? The local WD riders in this area seem to steer towards the conservative, no patterns, subtle color, minimal metal/crystal bling. I haven’t seen any of the heavily printed/blinged rail shirts locally (North Florida).

Oh, nice. Do you have to have a code to get 30% off? I don’t see any of the shirts as being particularly on sale.

I like this one: http://www.rods.com/2-tone-double-collar-aqua-show-top.html

Or this one: http://www.rods.com/royal-zip-front-show-blouse-with-rhinestones.html

I found the sale shirts and ordered a turquoise one. Thanks for the heads up!

One problem down. Now to find a pad and chaps.

Oh good! If you love it, you should get navy too. You gals look good in the blue tones. Also, might again be an “around here” kind of thing, but I see a lot of plain black show pads. I’m drawn toward color and pattern myself (my schooling stuff is a pink glitter unicorn rainbow of awesomeness), but love the practicality of being able to switch up my show blouse without worrying about clashing with my saddle pad (or needing more than one show pad). The Thinline ones are an investment but worth it as they are washable and hold up really well.

Eventually I hope to get a 5 Star or CSI pad. My friend let me try her CSI pad and I really liked it, but the 5 Star pads feel awesome too.

I really like navy on my mare. I almost half wish that I had gotten navy instead, but oh well. I think the teal will look really nice.
