Wet cat food recommendations/warnings?
I feed the Wellness CORE Seafood flavor and my two cats love it. I have to make sure I watch the spoon really well or they’ll chase it down in the sink. The cans have to be thrown away in the garage or kitties will get in to lick it clean.

I just hate how expensive it is. I just might try the Fancy Feast Classics. I always assumed it was a bad brand.
I think it is a bad brand. Look at the ingredients and judge for yourself. Meat byproducts (what meat? doesn’t say), artificial flavors, mystery meat broth, fish that is probably not ethoxyquin free. But it is grain free and doesn’t have vegetables which is good. So it isn’t all bad, but there is better out there than mystery meat for your cats. If price is an issue you could try Honest Kitchen, or Soulistic, they are both reasonably priced.

Keep in mind that EVO is now made by Proctor and Gamble. I was a huge Natura Pet supporter for 15 + years, but I saw some negative changes in my pets when P&G purchased NP and went on the search for something new.

I now feed the cats Hound & Gatos and By Nature and am very happy with both. I feed my dogs Orijen.

thanks for the link to the list!
I will say the EB brand I feed my one outrageously picky eater has carrageenan and I hate that! But I was so tired of trying every freaking brand out there and he just will not eat. Not if he is starving. Not for several days (and vet said do’t let him go too long and eventually give him what he wants - also he needs to get medicine). I guess I will try Addiction or Soulistic as I think I have seen those. He is a tough customer.

When you try switching do you put a very tiny piece of the new wet food mixed in with the one he likes? Try switching gradually. I’ve always found that once I can get my cats to try something a few times that they are more likely to eat it on its own.

Ha! Yep. But he is crafty. He will turn up his nose if there is a crumb of FF on HIS plate! I do have to mix in his miralax but he will.not.touch any other wet food (so far). Not mixed in , not offered as a “taste” on the side, not alone. And he will not eat any other EB flavor either! I don’t mind EB but a) don’t like that ingredient, and b) it’s a lot of fish! But so far, attempts to move him on to anything else have been unsuccessful. He is even distainful (luckily) of any people food including plain salmon. Nor did he eat the mouse he killed recently (and left in my husband’s boot). But I am not giving up and now have some new ideas to try. Any my other cats will eat anything!

(One of my cats ate tomato paste, tomato soup and brussels sprout soup - if it was organic and w/o preservatives. And pumpkin. Some cats do like vegetables and seek them out)

My cats get Tiki cat (chicken/tuna or chicken/salmon), which I stretch with Wellness Turkey or Chicken grain-free. I also add 1/2 tsp of pumpkin to the mix, it seems to help mitigate hairballs and with elimination.

Works great so far for my two, but it is expensive.

I won’t feed dry again after both my oldies developed CRF, which is what I fed them. (Allegedly high quality)
