I tried on Troxels yesterday, the Sport, Spirit, and Laredo Duratec. None of them fit well. They were tight front to back, and had too much room on the sides. They fell off when I tipped my head forward, unless they were uncomfortably tight. Apparently I have an egghead? Oval, I mean oval! I don’t think there are any other places nearby to try different brands. Is IRH generally better for us oval headed people? I see they have a couple in valley Vet magazine. I hate to order, but may not have a choice.

Troxels don’t fit me either for the same reason, and the IRHs do fine for my head. I still prefer Tipperaries over anything, but I have a little cheapie IRH as a spare that is comfy.

Yes! I have an “oval” head, too, and none of the round helmets fit me. So I got an IRH, model 1062, I think. Has “vents” in front and looks okay. But it’s always best to try them on. Size changes slightly depending on manufacturer.
Try the IRH helmets and the Charles Owens. Most helmets slip down over my eyes, but the Charles Owen ones with the soft padding in the back (e.g., Wellington) fit well. I can wear some IRH helmets.
THANKS!!! Just want to narrow it down and have a better chance of getting one that works since I think I’ll have to order one w/out trying on.
