What are you using to groom your wooly beast down to the skin? Cactus Cloth? Tiger Tongue? Grooming gloves? ???

Another for the gloves on grooming gloves - I really like that you can feel for any lumps, bumps, funguses. My one horse will absolutely melt with them…the ottb, he just has a meltdown - and he gets dandruffy come winter. The vacuum on blow works great. I just got a lightweight shopvac on amazon - I think it was $30.

RedHorses- can you post a photo of your Thing? I can’t even begin to picture it!

Do the lighter shopvacs work? I’ve been debating on trying one.

Drat! I forgot to do that today. I shall try to remember the next time I’m at the barn.

RainWeasley- I have a smallish canister vacuum (around $150) I use to vacuum my beast- it is less bulky and quieter than a ShopVac. Not sure about relative suck strength but it does a fine job.

You wouldn’t want to do a whole horse it, but for spot “descruffing” nothing beats a long toothed metal flea comb.

Before I ran into all the modern grooming tools I used to use a slicker brush, one made for dogs, to get the deep, deep crud out of the horse’s coat.

Some horses cannot stand this brush ,but others give every indication of pleasure when I used it on them.

I use a mane & tail brush to curry, a furminator, and a vacuum. All depending on which horse tolerates which!
