What are your favorite cold weather apparel items for hunting?

Buff headwear headband to cover your ears, and it fits under your helmet too!

BEST THING EVER: Thermatex vest from Horse Country Saddlery. A warm core makes for a happy human. Under $100 and lasts forever!!

I have an old polarfleece vest that is similar to the Thermatex, very tight fitting, you can easily wear it under your coat. I also horse show in it during the winter. BEST thing ever. I like the Thermatex Vests too. Same idea.

A few of us have heated hunting vests, and most of us wear helmet hoodies --from Stateline --that go over the helmet, neck, and ears. Here’s a link to the heated hunting vests. . . .http://www.cabelas.com/product/Heated-Performance-Mens-Fleece-Vest/1870707.uts?productVariantId=3888871&WT.tsrc=PPC&WT.mc_id=GoogleProductAds&WT.z_mc_id1=03921995&rid=20&gclid=CjwKEAiA3qXBBRD4_b_V7ZLFsX4SJAB0AtEV2yDw03w0kwDZZjm6M6K69d3fj6mghO7SQs1YALEmSBoClZzw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

I bought a pair of beige Kerrits winter breeches on clearance at the end of last winter from Adams Horse supply. They often have Kerrits on clearance so you could check there.

ETA: Here they are–$54.99!

I agree that a warm core is essential. Both SmartWool and Isis make lightweight wool camisoles that do a great job of keeping you warm without feeling bound up in the arms & shoulders as I sometimes feel with heavy weight shirts.

This wasn’t part of the original ask, but I strongly recommend a heavyweight Melton. I have my uncle’s navy-issued pea coat and my Melton is heavier and warmer than it is!

Someone at a joint meet in cold weather showed me how they purchased two yards of white polarfleece and cut it in strips for stock ties. Promptly went and did it.

I’m not hunting, but the flannel stock tie sounds like it would be cozy everyday! I wear a square silk scarf tied alà cowboy neckerchief all winter which is quite cozy too.

A Buff.
Great at keeping your head/ears/nose warm and keeping the wind out. Thin so it fits under your helmet and not too noticeable if you chose the right color.

I wore these on a not terribly cold but windy day and they were not that warm. But they looked nice! I will definitely layer next time.

A hot Toddy.
