Title says it all
At home: Usually a polo and some dark colored schooling breeches that don’t show the mud/food/whatever else I’ve spilt on them. In the winter, I’ll put a v-neck on over the polo.
I’ll begrudgingly wear a tank top when the heat gets to extremes, but I really dislike riding in one - I feel like I’m all over the place, if you know what I mean.
At a show I wear normal show clothes. Long sleeved white shirt, navy or black jacket, beige pants, black belt.
for summer schooling:
-retired beige show breeches or darker-colored schooling breeches
-polo shirt (sleeveless in very hot weather), tucked in only for lessons
-paddock boots and half chaps or field boots for lessons
-hair net and approved helmet
for winter schooling:
-kerrits sit tight and warm breeches (the best winter breeches I’ve found)
-turtle neck or fleece long sleeve shirt
-sweatshirt for schooling, sweater for lessons
-vest or puffer coat for very cold-weather schooling
-winter paddock boots and half chaps (field boots won’t fit over bulkier pants/socks)
-winter riding gloves
-hair net and approved helmet
For showing:
-Tailored Sportsman beige breeches, worn with belt
-Essex wrap collar shirts (pastel for schooling classes, white for real classes)
-Grand Prix hunt coat (I don’t care for the new softshell fabrics. I’m a traditionalist and have 4 nice wool blends in colors that complement my horses)
-Field boots
-Roeckl synthetic gloves
-hair net and approved helmet
Polo, breeches, tall boots, gloves, helmet, and hairnet always unless I’ve managed to yet again misplace my gloves.
If I’m not feeling lazy I tuck in the polo and toss on a belt but since I ride at 7 am I’m usually not that motivated.
teaching/lessoning/riding: polo, belt, breeches and tall boots, i have sweaters for the winter to layer with my polos. Even in here in the dirty dirty (New Orleans, LA Area) I still wear a polo all summer long. I have the cool fit polos for summer.
Jeans and a t-shirt. Paddock boots and chaps. And my helmet, of course.
I start the day out wearing clean (old lady/mom style) jeans that fit nicely and don’t fall off my a** when I ride. They usually get dirty as the day progresses. On top I wear a tank top in the summer, some would say tacky but the reason is: at the track we are required to wear vests, and sleeves and collars bunch up under my vest and drive me nuts. I like to keep my top tucked in to my old lady jeans, it looks nice and it keeps my shirt out of the way. A belt, almost always.
In the winter I usually ride in a hooded sweatshirt, they don’t flop around and make noise, and they cover the vest well.
If I have a lot of horses to ride I wear black full chaps, which I love to death but don’t always wear in the summer due to heat.
I’ve discovered that almost any everyday ensamble can be made classier by tucking in your shirt and adding a belt.
Oh, and a sports bra, which I feel is NOT optional when riding!
Breeches with a fitted t-shirt or polo, half chaps and boots, gloves and helmet. I am a dirt magnet so this looks somewhat tidy for approximately 15 seconds after I arrive at the barn.
Tall boots, breeches w/belt (or tights if it’s exceptionally hot), ladies golf polo (moisture wicking!) or one of my geology shirts (Columbia or North Face button down, also moisture wicking), ponytail or braid (no hairnet), gloves, helmet.
Polo, breeches, tall boots, black gloves(for lessons an schooling). As the weather gets colder I add more layers, usually a light fleece and down vest. I ordered my tall boots a half size up so I could fit winter socks under them too
Most days?
Ancient breeches (my favorite pair is 15 years old!), or those jeans “tights” that they sell at target (thinner than jeans, thicker than tights).
This “yoga jacket” (Love the pocket on the shoulder for my cell phone)
T shirt or polo shirt
Crazy colored socks ($2.50 a pair at target)
Brown ariat paddock boots, brown ariat half chaps (back zip) and my ovation helmet.

That’s a great jacket!!
Ralph Lauren T shirt tucked into Tailored Sportsman schooling breeches with a belt almost every single day. It’s a little bit embarrassing that I have 20+ different colors of the exact same shirt, but it is my favorite shirt. I don’t just wear it for riding though (trying to justify it here!!).
Royal blue britches, a frilly white blouse, and a long, blue, velvet cape. With a tri-cornered hat, and slouchy boots.
Just kidding.
Summer:
Colored schooling breeches
Polo
cool-max socks
CO Ayr8
Dehner field boots
Winter:
Same breeches
Polo
sweater
depending on weather, either: down vest, down ski jacket, or waterproof soft shell
scarf (usually cashmere, because it’s freakin’ warm, darnit, not because I’m snobby)
cotton socks
same boots
Always:
sports bra
Shows:
tan breeches
nice polos during the week (so either Joules or PRL)
show shirt on weekends, with
Saltare (Now “Stable Cloth”) jumper coat
CO ayr8 helmet
socks w/o holes (either cool-max or cotton)
Ariat Crowne Pro field boots (that I HATE and want to replace this year)
black Heritage gloves
Summer-
Kerrits tights, Equine Couture Breeches, Arait… basically whatever I don’t show in and is clean
Polo (short sleeve or sleeveless), Fitted t shirt, Athletic wear tank top type shirt (Attempt at getting rid of farmers tan)
If the breeches have a belt loop, I will wear a belt and tuck in my shirt.
Target Socks
AYR8 helmet+hairnet (placebo effect has me thinking I am cooler with my hair off my neck)
Schooling tall boots that are too short.
Heritage Tackified Pro Air Show Glove
Winter
Everything is typically the same, but I have some athletic EIS type shirts that I wear, they are from Target, and not as breathable. I also have a long sleeved polo, but I will also wear a sweater depending on the weather
Scarf
Light jacket or vest (I am in the south, it doesn’t get too terribly cold)
Same helmet/boots
Same gloves
Shows-
White show shirts (essex+TS)
Equine couture or TS breeches
RJ Classics Soft Shell Show Coat (It is my new baby)
Any sort of belt I feel like
And I am currently looking for some new field boots, but I used to show in my schooling pair.
SSG Hybrid Glove
Always- Some sort of slobber the second I get to the barn
Despite the absolute heat and humidity of Houston, in the Summer I wear:
-Breeches
-Freya underwire sports bra
-Short-sleeved polo or a nice V-neck short-sleeved shirt (no graphics!)
-Leather belt
-Tall boots
-Hairnet (hair must be tucked up in helmet)
-GPA speedair, since it really allows a nice amount of airflow to keep the helmet decently cool. I still sweat like a pig.
-WATERPROOF SUNBLOCK for face and body.
For winter I just add a nice V-neck sweater over my polo.
For the summer I wear a polo or a coolmax quarter zip shirt like this, or if I’m being really lazy, then a sorority t shirt ;), along with some type of breeches, my AYR8 with a hairnet, paddock boots and half chaps or my cheap Mountain Horse tall boots, and neumanns gloves. In the winter (ah I can’t wait for cooler weather!), it is basically the same, except for a long sleeved polo, my fleece north face (and if it is really cold) my barbour on top of that. I also have ariat fleece lined breeches, but I don’t love those b/c they are so slippery that my horse crow hopped once and it sent my butt flying (luckily I did stay on, but barely ). I also have the winter neumanns gloves or a super thick fleece pair that I wear when it is really cold
Summer/Spring/Fall:
Well-fitting t-shirt or fitted shirt tucked in (sometimes tank top in the summer)
Breeches (I have mostly TS for schooling but also one pair of RJ and one pair of EC)
Belt (leather or ribbon belt)
Brown Tredstep paddock boots
Brown Ovation half chaps
CO AYR8 (black/purple…on clearance for $80 at VTO and I needed a new schooling helmet so I couldn’t resist  )
Hairnet (hunter hair always!)
Winter:
Breeches w/ full chaps or Kerrits winter breeches
The rest is the same, plus a jacket
I think I am a riding fuddy duddy…
