Beaver Breeze - Do you have any info on how Storm Cat is doing now? I just looked up how old he is (I knew he had to be up there in age) and found out he is 30 years old this year! I hope he’s doing as well as possible for an old man. 
I live in Lexington but have mostly warmbloods. i have this perch cross that is about 17HH but has the most huge head you have ever seen. I needed a new halter so I took his old one to Central Tack to have them make a new one. When I picked it up, the astonished clerk checking us out asked what kind of horse could possibly have that sized head. i told her it was for my Storm Cat colt.

Impossible to believe that story. Sounds like someone wanted to tell a good tale about breeding, or not, to Storm Cat. Not to mention his temperment was just fine, as far as “meeting” him goes. He was no Dynaformer.

It’s been eye opening to me how, 20+ years after having only been with Thoroughbreds and returning to horse owning, how they are now vilified since they had gone out of favor as riding horses. Being Thoroughbreds, they’re not always an easy start, but just need to get to know what their job is, and can they ever do it well.

I have a Storm Cat great grandson, and while he’s a bit farther down the line, my guy is a barn favorite for his absolutely wonderful temperment. He’s just such a sweetie. I bought him from a woman who doesn’t like TBs but thought he had a wonderful QH-eqsue personality!

I don’t, unfortunately. When the farm was sold, the people I knew over there had to find other work. You could try contacting Eduardo Terrazas; I believe he was looking after the old man while leasing part of Overbrook. He used to be the stallion manager at Taylor Made and is a great guy. Google Terrazas Thoroughbreds and you’ll probably find contact info.
