I’ve always used the Fillis irons and have no plans on changing. Never rode in anything else so I really just stick to what I know
I use the MDC Ultimates (swivel and jointed). I broke my ankle last year so bought these. I really like them. I honestly don’t even notice the flex. Not sure that is good or bad, but I don’t really feel it. As a bonus, I don’t have knee pain, either, with them. Knee surgery 8 years ago was causing some issue when I rode for an extended period prior to these stirrups.
I will also add, that I feel there was a noticeable difference between the HS jointed stirrups and the cheaper versions. The HS were a lot tighter and needed more weight to flex them. The cheaper versions flexed on the drop of a hat and dont provide any base of support.
Regular cheap fillis stirrups
I just bought the cheap S-jointed irons. My left ankle keeps getting sprained when I rdie in two-point in my fillis irons. I just got them and rode once in them and I felt a huge difference in my ankle pain during and after the ride. I do plan on switching back to the fillis irons once my ankle is stonger.
