MY 17.2 gelding wears medium premiers behind and they are almost too tall
I have some cheaper knockoff version of the Dalmar Eventer boots. I like the air vents on the boots. They really do seem to keep the legs cooler than your basic neoprene boot.
My new favorite XC boots are the Woof Wear Pro Event boots. I just got a hind pair for my horse and I love them. Boots tend to slide a lot on my horse’s legs but these ones stayed put.

Where on the boot was the tear and was the leg injured or was there a wound?[/QUOTE]
No injury or wound, just a bit of missing hair. The tear was on the inside of the front leg. It was a few years ago so I can’t remember the exact location. I was grateful that the boot protected the leg from harm, but disappointed that it was so easily destroyed, and worried that it would have been more serious with a bigger stud (or another foreign object i.e. rock, xc jump, etc).
I use Dalmar open fronts that some kind COTHer posted a link to a year or so ago on sale for $25. For the baby I bought a pair of Amigo air flow boots for $35 from Smartpak. Nice boots for the price (although I see that have gone up).

I just bought the Ecogold xc boots and was absolutely amazed at how cool they keep the leg. That to me was worth the price tag. I will say that if I don’t put the hinds on perfectly they will slide down a bit, but not so much as to interfere with the horse. This doesn’t happen with the fronts, I think its mostly because the backs are a little tall on my guy.
I’ve also read really great things about the Majyk Equipe boots but sadly they only come in Medium and Large and those would be far too large for my pony so I was unable to try them.
