What's the best hose ever?

At my farm, it won’t matter what hose I buy because my wife leaves them out and runs over them with the tractor.

My b/o invested in rubber hoses from Sears prior to when I met her in 1999. They are still in great shape and don’t kink. Fortunately she has installed Nelson waterers in the paddocks, so they don’t get dragged around all the time now. But their durability is impressive.

I just bought one of these:

So far I am liking it for use in the barn.
Lightweight, doesn’t rewind itself like a pocket hose, but is easy to handle & the ballistic material seems like it will hold up.

On topic this time, we are using a Teknor hose similar to that and they’re holding up into their 3rd year. Except for the one that gets run over by the tractor, of course.

The billet fittings on each end are 1000% superior to the crimped metal ones that come on cheap hoses, and they have hex flats in the event you want to apply a wrench to them.

The only downside to the extra heavy duty hoses is they don’t handle twist well. Either put it on a hose reel and avoid all twist, or coil it over a hose bracket on the wall and make sure it coils back on the bracket without extra twists. A moment of diligence each day coiling and uncoiling the hose will pay off with much less stress and hassle.

These, hands down. Drinking water safe too.

I use 100% old fashion rubber hoses. The one in the barn is 100’ and reaches all the stalls, the other rubber ones are outside for filling the 5 smaller sacrifice paddocks. My last 100’ rubber hose lasted somewhere between 15 - 20 yrs. They don’t kink, I’ve driven over them, horses step on them etc. I’m in Canada and will use the barn hose all winter long. It stays in the water room (heated in winter) and I drag it out and down the aisle to fill the water pails and it will be below 0°C (32F)
I had to order the 100 footer from U.S. as we only have them up to 50’ and two 50’ hoses attached just don’t work well when you are rolling them back up.
